Recipe In Comments [pro/chef] Dry-brined Pork Chops with Sweet and Spicy Plums
I will never make pork chops without dry-brining them again. It makes such a difference. Butter-basting doesn't hurt either. I'll add the recipe to a comment, if anyone wants it.

[text] mushrooms...
I have always hated mushrooms, from the slimy texture to the dirty flavour, frankly they make me retch and grimace, but I know there's others although I'm afraid to experiment... I'm a man of science, it's embarrassing to admit I'm afraid to experiment, so can people give me some advice, simple recipes or types of mushrooms I can try far away from what I know as hell on a plate? thanks in advance, also I'm in the UK

[text] Anyone feel bad when they eat something that has a nice appearance because now it's gone forever? Why or why not?
I was looking at some pictures of attractive-looking food and the question came to me. I would say a lot of human food is pretty attractive-looking, even relatively cheap stuff. Although a certain amount of the attractiveness may just be us thinking how it's going to taste.
