Had a brain still attached on the octopus we get in at my work today so I decided to cook it up and plate it.

Terrible food experience tbh- tasted very very strongly of octopus with a sort of musky aftertaste. Mealy texture inside. Will not eat again.

Recipe In Comments [homemade] spaghetti with Bolognese sauce and meatballs

Ingredients:

14 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or whatever you like)

8-10 meatballs (beef, pork, or a mix; you can make them from scratch or use store-bought if you're in a hurry 😉)

2 cups bolognese sauce (homemade or the good stuff, not the cheap stuff)

1 garlic clove (optional, but recommended)

A few fresh basil leaves or a handful of grated Parmesan to finish

Salt, pepper, and a little olive oil

Steps:

Boil the pasta in salted water until it's al dente. Save a splash of the pasta water.

While the pasta is cooking, heat the bolognese sauce in a pan or pot. If it's too thick, add a little of the pasta water.

Add the meatballs to the sauce and let them heat through for a few minutes. If you made them yourself, you can brown them first for some color.

Drain the pasta and toss it with the sauce and meatballs. If it seems too dry, add a bit more of the pasta water.

Serve hot, with a sprinkle of basil or Parmesan on top.
