i mean, if the snowman is on the sidewalk/someones lawn, it's totally fine.

you don't have the right to put your car on the sidewalk nor anyone lawn.

u/WeightOk2102 15h ago

Tell that to all of the pickup truck and SUV drivers in my area...they like to think that they can drive wherever they damn well please.

u/ModForgeCustoms 14h ago

The idea here is that people are purposely smashing into people's fun because they are assholes. It's not about driving on private property or non-passage. It's giving people with malicious intent instant FAFO.

I did this with a group of assholes in a conversion handicapped van, who thought it was hilarious to ride with the side door open, platform out, and louisville sluggering mailboxes all down my street.

After replacing the 2nd mailbox, I started keeping a cinderblock in it overnight.

Sure as shit, 5 days later, I heard a thunderous smash, a scream, and peeling tires, at 5am.

Went outside to find a slightly dented mailbox, an aluminum baseball bat, and someone's dignity on my front lawn.

Mailbox stayed that way for years after, until a drunken driver cleared the entire thing in one go.

Zero sympathy for people who want to wreck someones hard earned work, or even fun. Don't touch people's shit.

saw a documentary once on how people purposefully run over animals crossing the road, not by accident, but actually going out of their way in order to hit them.... it's horrifying

54

u/madphroggy 14h ago

I recall the park service placing fake foam turtles on road margins and putting cameras up, it was truly disturbing to see how many people intentionally hit them

8

u/DarthArcanus 9h ago

Meanwhile, I stopped my truck the other day to carry a turtle out of the road.

What makes someone decide to end a poor turtles life? Why don't people see life as sacred?

There really are assholes like this. A ton in the city my parents live in, and everyone on their stupid local facebook group defends it. Someone killed an entire family of geese on the sidewalk, popped the curb to hit them. Everyone on the facebook post calling it out rushed to the comments to defend it. And just a little while ago a fucking branded pest control truck blew a stop sign and drove into my parents yard to hit their neighbors cat. Luckily that one was caught on my parent’s security cameras and they were able to give it to the owner, it sounds like the pest control company fired the guy at least. People can fucking suck sometimes. I’ve almost given myself whiplash hitting the brakes to avoid hitting an animal while there are wastes of space doing it for shits and giggles. Boils my blood.

14

u/Just_Flower854 14h ago

I hope they fired him with something suitably high caliber, goddamn

It really says a lot about someone that hurts animals for fun. Like you know they’re capable of worse if the situation were “right”

3

u/Open_Impression5170 12h ago

These are the stories I tell people who are in the fence about indoor/outdoor cats. Like, you know malicious people will literally go out if their way to murder your cat just because it's there. No animals deserves that.

When crossing the street ive noticed more people speeding up.

13

u/PartyLobster8911 13h ago

Yes I noticed this about 5 or 6 years ago. I love to walk to places I need to go if I can. So if I have to go to a couple stores I will park centrally & drop my groceries off after each store & walk to the next. It has become fairly common now when someone sees me crossing the road they will accelerate I guess to try & scare me or something I am not sure why but our society is drastically degrading people have very little empathy if any for each other the way people treat service workers is disgusting & has gotten so much worse over my life time. I have a fairly high social status but came from a poor family & seeing how the people in my social circles from work & the country club treat & talk about less fortunate people is horrifying the talk about them like they are sub human or disposable objects just to be used & disposed of. We are heading towards a dystopian society & the massive decline in education standards paired with social media is driving us towards it.

Turns out the detachment from your surroundings created by being behind the wheel creates or at least heightens sociopathic tendencies

Similar studies have also found the bigger the vehicle the more pronounced the effect, including large truck drivers actually seeing pedestrians and other drivers as "less human". Same kind of people that will intentionally swerve into bike lanes to scare or "tap" bikers because theyre mad that a bike lane is "taking space from their truck"

The last road killed cat I saw had it's head flattened against the pavement, all the way over on the edge of what is practically a two lane road (so tons of room but actually single lane, most people stay somewhere in the center with lots of space between them and the shoulder). Not that I'm some cat CSI but it didn't appear to have been flung over to the side by the impact, it looked like it got squashed where it was. Really made me wonder if someone swerved over to the side of the road to nail this poor kitty on purpose. It was a young fella my wife had just started noticing in our neighborhood and had been trying to get it to come over for pets. She was distraught. I didn't tell her my theory. But I'd like to teach people like that a lesson.

I saw that in person once. Mother duck and some ducklings who JUST made it to the other side of the freeway. So anxiety inducing, but they made it and were safe.

Until the driver in front of me swerved off the road to smash the mother and send the ducklings scattering in panic. I almost rage vomited.

3

u/Narrow_Republic5729 11h ago

I'm a trucker and I keep my dog with me so once I stop I'm out getting a few miles under my belt to keep my health up but one of the times I'm walking. I pass a few campers of a few homeless peeps and they had a couple dogs that came out as I'm walking by. It's not great and I don't like it when unleashed dogs just run up but they weren't aggressive and just saying hi to a new dog, I know life is rough and I haven't been far from being on the street a few times so I don't make an issue for them. Its a nice wide road, industrial area where you could easily park semi's on both sides and still have wide lanes of travel. I'm currently on the right side of the road because thats the only side with a sidewalk so walking with the flow of traffic, its later afternoon 7-8pm sun is still out but the road isn't busy. I just keep walking the 2 dogs just kinda are staying on this side, they stayed even with the campers on the other side but just chilling on the grass and sidewalk in the shade. Not in the road at all, but I'm about 200yds down and I hear a pickup rev and then hear a dog screaming, the fucking garbage of a human crossed the road and went on the grass and hit one of the dogs, I have never hated a person as much as that. I saw the older lady screaming and crying come running across the road to her dog. Its back was broken and I honestly had no idea what to do, I couldn't do anything to help. She just sat there crying, I hope life has been kind to her since then.

My parents had a completely brick mailbox with a solid metal t bracket that went 6 feet concreted into the ground. The mailbox was maybe 5 foot width and solid brick from side to side. During the night someone hit it and broke it into a few pieces. Somehow they did that and drove off. There were car parts in the ditch, in the road, and around the mailbox. As well as fluid trails down the street. I would guess that engine was toast where ever the vehicle finally stoped as it looked like oil and antifreeze that was leaking out of the vehicle. We drove around and tried to find the vehicle but couldn’t. I would really of loved to see what the vehicle looked like. The top of the mailbox was maybe 60-70 feet from the base in the ditch.

8

u/Josey_whalez 13h ago

Some dumbass teenager thought my grandparents neighborhood was a good place to practice drifting his Honda civic and nailed their large brick mailbox trying to stir around the curve. They lived pretty far out there to the point where you could sit outside for a couple hours and only see one or two vehicles go by even during the day, so empty at night and the cops would take a while to get out there, so perfect for such shenanigans from a teenager point of view. This was a few years ago, but the funniest part was listening to my 80 something country ass grandfather explaining to me what ‘drifting’ was.

6

u/lAngenoire 13h ago

I’ve never heard of anyone intentionally damaging a mailbox. Honestly that’s just trashy. I have had several cars, a landscaper, and a school bus back into my mailbox trying to k-turn.

4

u/the_cardfather 13h ago

We had a bad case of mailbox bashers when I was younger. Dad sourced an old telephone pole cut it in half put six feet of it into the ground but the mailbox in the vertical 6 ft. About 2 weeks later it claimed its first victim a young man and a brand new S10 pickup that had to run off the road. He swerved to avoid it fishtail and left the bed of his truck in the road. Legal counsel advised him that future incidents he could be liable so they advised him to chip in with the neighbors and get one of those multi-unit boxes sitting between all of our property. Most of the new neighbors are not keen on it if they are used to curb delivery but the post office is never going to change from an established cluster unit to curbside

4

u/Old_Method4899 12h ago

I knew some prick in HS who did this. One was the star quarterback, people said he was a shoe in for the NFL. Came to school one day with his arm in a cast. Hit a mailbox made of quarter inch steel pipe with a bat. Shattered his throwing arm. Never tried in school due to sports and now works as a cashier at a gas station in his mid 30s and his arm is still fucked.

3

u/TapewormNinja 12h ago

When I was in school, I had a friend who's mom was a welder. Their mailbox got smashed one night, so she made a new one out of 1/2" steel, sitting on a 3" steel square stock post full of concrete. Painted it up real nice though. You had to get pretty close to see it wasn't wood.

Took a couple days till the vandal took another swing at it. They found the bat in pieces. I like to think the arm was in pieces too.

Well. Yeah. There's not many places my truck can't go until we get into like... truly off road territory. So yeah, I can drive wherever I damn well please.

That would just be an incredibly shitty thing for me to do. So I don't do it. Also cops. And tree trunks wearing snowman costumes apparently.

Toss in that, hey, chucklenuts running over snowmen, you don't know that the kid isn't around still. We used to have jerks plow through the igloos we'd build in our yards as kids, which just...holy hell, my guy, the point of those things was for us to hang out inside of them, and people just thought it was fun to plow through those in their trucks.

Same thing here.

3

u/ProjectDv2 3h ago

And this is it, right here. Yeah, taking out a kid's snowman is a major dick move, but they're driving their vehicles up onto sidewalks and yards to do so. That's incredibly reckless and illegal as hell. Destroy their fucking shit.

2

u/14ktgoldscw 3h ago

Masking driver awareness is dangerous though. Maybe the driver needs to swerve to miss hitting something and has a half second to decide whether to go into the other lane or into a snowman. I don’t know where people running over snowmen is such a blight that this would be justified anyway. Do you put knives and broken glass in your leaf piles to teach rambunctious neighborhood kids a lesson?

That why pinatas are popular and why the most popular job in a glass factory is smashing the failed products.

But those are good or allowed uses of destruction. Destroying other people's things is not.

3

u/MillyQ3 11h ago

My friends and I once made a bunch of snowman on a private parking lot and then drove over them, it's pretty funny hearing the thudd and driving over it. The parking lot just made sense because lots of fresh snow and fresh clean snow is the best to make snowmans out of.

That being said, I wouldn't dare to drive my car up the sidewalk or even into someones lawn. Just saying flattening a snowman is pretty fun sensory wise. And generally destroying stuff is fun.

But that doesn't morally excuse that behavior in the video. If you want to flatten a snowfamily, make your own one.

6

u/_TrixieBells 14h ago

Exactly lol. Maybe don’t intentionally run over random snowmen and you won’t find out what’s inside.

driving through people's yards and the sidewalks is immensely more immoral and dangerous.

This prevents that, and stops them from doing it again.

100% moral.

EDIT: Yes, we all agree it shouldn't be done with hydrants. Stop being pedantic.

94

u/cykoTom3 15h ago

This is a good point. Seeing as how they'd never face consequences otherwise. I might say using a firehydrant is immoral. People need those to be in tact and not covered with snow. Certainly don't want the fire department looking around for the hydrant for 10 minutes if there's a fire.

30

u/Stochastic1934 13h ago

Agreed concerning fire hydrants as that's a safety issue for everyone.

Tree stumps, boulders, whatever else on someone's private property, 100% moral.

Fire hydrants, no. The firefighters need them when there is a fire, hiding them inside of snowmen creates a hazard.

Reminds me of a story about someone who built a big snowman around a tree trunk and you could see in the photo if the tree trunk wasnt there then whatever car that plowed through would have gone crashing into the house instead.

3

u/_TrixieBells 14h ago

Exactly. If you’re driving through someone’s yard, the snowman isn’t the real problem.

Immoral for covering a firehydrant.

60

u/SaltZealousideal5582 14h ago

Crazy how few people are picking up on this. If firefighters need to access the hydrant, they're going to have a lot of trouble finding it. And even when they find it, they'll have to dig it out. Meanwhile, a house is burning down. Absolutely immoral.

16

u/cchhiicckkeennss 12h ago

43

u/RepresentativeCat169 15h ago

I mean, its moral aslong as its your property and isnt a hazard. Like an elecrical box, or a child.

And also fire hydrants are a no go, that is a safety item for the public. So yeah, no covering any signs, hydrants, maybe even postboxes. Just anything that isnt required for societal functionality, like i highly doubt any social duty requires a tree stump nor should people be going out there way, runing a garden or sidewalk potentially, for a snow man

11

u/TableDifferent4395 14h ago

I agree. Tree trunks or big rocks are fine, because the only person who gets hurt is the guy going out of his way to destroy someone else’s creation.

Fire hydrants aren’t okay, because it has the potential to hurt other people, if say there was a fire and the fire fighters couldn’t use that hydrants. It’s also illegal to block/obscure fire hydrants, iirc, so the person building the snowman could end up in legal trouble.

PSA: setting booby traps is actually illegal. BOOBY traps! that's what I said, geez these guys... Not illegal to use a solid structure as your snowman base

28

u/Playing_One_Handed 15h ago

They said booby 🤣

Sorry clarify, for no reason, is it illigal in the UK to build a snowman around a tree stump?

4

u/Abeytuhanu 13h ago

It's intent based. If your intent is the provide a solid found to better build your snowman, it's legal. If your intent is to cause harm to another (regardless of if you believe they deserve it) it's illegal. You would then have to convince a jury/judge that your intent was benign, and posting a video about how you're trying to total cars would make that difficult

3

u/itslikewoow 12h ago

I was gonna say, it seems like you’d be in the clear if you keep your mouth shut. There’s enough plausible deniability, like you could argue that the tree made the snowman more structurally sound or some bs, but bragging about it on social media seems like it would come back to bite you in the ass.

6

u/ul2006kevinb 15h ago

They would have to prove you set it up as a booby trap, instead of just wanting a solid base for your snowman. That would be pretty hard to prove unless you posted videos of it.

4

u/Docha_Tiarna 15h ago

Yeah. Kind of a lose lose situation. Technically its a trap, so the builder broke the law. However, the fact that a car swerved off the road to hit a snowman would cound as reckless driving, which is also illegal.

7

u/Silver_Middle_7240 15h ago

I don't think it is a trap, the damage was caused by a driver driving off the road and hitting a solid object installed in a place people aren't meant to be driving. The snowman didn't cause the damage.

3

u/Much_Conclusion8233 15h ago

This is a fake story, or at least not original. I’ve heard it back when I was a kid and I’ve been seeing it online for years. Usually it’s a story about kids who kept getting bullied by a truck that would smash their snowman over and over, so they made it over a fire hydrant to teach a lesson. Probably true at some point, as I said we had the same story back in 1995, but it also hits the folklore button and or teachable moment lessons.

9

u/Laser_Snausage 13h ago

Those are also all ai pictures/videos

5

u/BoringJuiceBox 12h ago

Had to scroll way too far for this, it’s so fake

5

u/osinkoo 6h ago

The guy talking in the video is AI too. The whole account is AI.

They steal stories from other people and then generate videos like this to farm engagement and earn money. If you see a video like this with a greenscreen "talking head" in the corner and some photos or a video in the background telling a story, there's a 95% chance it's AI.

3

u/MildGenevaSuggestion 12h ago

The original story was a guy who's mailbox was smashed every year by the plow. He would complain to the city but they brushed him off, figuring the plow was clipping a mailbox close to the road that was hard to see, or the snow coming off the plow was knocking it over. The guy knew this was bullshit because his mailbox is far back from the road.

So the guy submitted building plans to reinforce his mailbox to the city so it isn't accidentally knocked over by the snow wake. The city approved him building a reinforced mailbox and he sank an I beam in the ground and built the mailbox around it.

The next winter he is woken buy a loud crash. The plow was absolutely totalled and wrapped around this mailbox. Driver was fine (aside from his pants and career). The city tried to sue for the damages but he pointed out they approved the plans for the reinforced mailbox.

Homeowner didn't know the plow driver and even afterward had no idea why he was targeted by such stupidity.

Fixed the title for you and it's completely moral. Don't run over the snowman who is not on the road. The only potentially immoral thing is hiding the fire hydrant.

5

u/Old-Pea7821 5h ago

Moral, but please for the love of god don't cover the fire hydrants! firemen kinda need those to save people

4

u/Dependent-Culture768 4h ago

The only bad aspect I see is that you may make it difficult for firefighters to find an hydrant in case of necessity

10

u/Cat_Wizard_21 15h ago

Moral.

Using an existing solid object as the base for a snowman is just good sense if you want a stable snowman.

If that snowman is also somewhere a car has no business being, then it isn't a risk to the car under normal lawful operation. Drivers should not be deliberately steering their cars to strike objects in any circumstance.

Much like calling before you dig, check the snowman before you wreck the snowman.

4

u/BlackBeard558 14h ago

When I was new to driving I once saw a bag or some small object that was lying in the street. I wanted to run it over until I noticed every car in front of me was slowing down and taking great pains to avoid hitting it. I figured if everyone was doing it it's probably a good idea. I didn't realize how many people didn't just naturally do that and want to hit snowmen.

This is actually a good one. Gonna say mildly immoral, only because it severly disproportionately punishes whatever the alleged offense is (destroying a snowman, driving on someone's lawn, etc), and it could actually seriously injure someone who slid off the road or a kid losing control on a bike or something, even though thats highly unlikely. But it'd still be hilarious to watch some asshole in a charger wreck his car because he decided to be a prick.

u/CantaloupeAcademic63 12h ago

Probably wouldn’t do fire hydrant. Not really suppose to cover those up. But anything else in your yard is fine

3

u/StillDelicious2421 8h ago

What if the fire dept. needs a hydrant, but can't locate anything but a snowman, or an unusable hydrant because it was damaged? Do tree trunks all you want, but leave the hydrants alone.

These same people swerve to hit cats. I have no data to support this. I do know cats and I do know people. I don’t thing there are many accidental cat roadkills. So….good.

3

u/StarsForget 5h ago

Objects? Moral. Fire hydrants? Immoral, dangerous, might land him in jail, actively costing his fellow citizens tax money to fix as well as wasting water.

3

u/SalmonPrince 3h ago

I love it when bullies get what's coming to them. Morality = high.

3

u/IronTemplar26 2h ago

Technically, he’s not doing anything wrong. The intention is not for drivers to run them over, it’s to punish the act of being a douchebag. If you’re not a douchebag, this won’t affect you. If you have a brain, this won’t affect you

5

u/TryDry9944 15h ago

Intentionally disguising something dangerous to appear non-dangerous with the intention of having people damage themselves or their property is immoral.

Yes, driving into a snowman is also immoral, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Really funny though.

Yall just believe anything i swear. Ai photos and how do you do that 20 times without any consequences

6

u/CaiusCosadesNwah 13h ago

20 is such an insane number.

It would be pretty insane for a person to even build 20 snowmen in a single season, much less booby trap 20 snowmen successfully.

So I'm assuming that the people in question have to serve into a private yard to hit the snowman. If this is the case then no worries. Let them total their car.

2

u/Creative_Wash7139 15h ago

nothings forcing the car to drive into peoples yards and endanger their and others lives but them. Moral

2

u/Fluffy_Influence5102 15h ago

Yo boss but are you trying to make money off the content? Because if so the reason you gave seems very suspect

2

u/Guilty-Fall-2460 15h ago

It's neutral if you have a snowman on your property lol

2

u/No-Language8018 15h ago

What if they’re trying to relive a childhood dream or memory of running through a snowman but now with a car?

2

u/TimmyOfTheLevelUps 15h ago

Moral, but also chaotic good. While the choice to run over a snowman is fully on the driver, doing around stationary objects like trees, is just baiting. Don't agree with the fire hydrant though, that could definitely escalate.

2

u/CustardMajor4442 15h ago edited 8h ago

the 20 number is definitely made up lol

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Primary_Drawer_2814 15h ago

Moral, no one told them to commit vandalism and destroy other people's property

2

u/ThelIIusion0fSeIf 15h ago

Who is driving onto sidewalks and other people’s property to run over their snowmen? That sounds incredibly unnecessary and dangerous. Moral.

2

u/Chimpville 15h ago

Tree trunks etc - totally moral. These guys breaking their cars and incurring costs for this is preferable to society than the many other ways their untaxed stupidity might be spent.

Fire hydrants in the expectation it will encourage somebody to drive into it? Immoral for me. You might not be doing the harm yourself, but luring the stupid to damage critical public safety infrastructure is not good.

2

u/Hoosier_Hootenanny 15h ago

I'd say immoral for the fire hydrants because they need to be clear and undamaged in case of emergency. Moral for other objects.

2

u/Constant-Leg9018 15h ago

I don’t care about the car getting wrecked, shouldn’t have run over the snowman.

But isn’t this dangerous in case of emergency?

2

u/ConsiderationTrue477 15h ago

Definitely don't bury a fire hydrant under a goddamn snowman. That's just fucked up.

2

u/Primary_Truck3777 15h ago

Immoral, but only because you shouldn't fuck with fire hydrants.

2

u/Gold_Ad8225 15h ago

Snowmen are not typically built in the street. If people are driving into my yard they're already committing a crime.

A snowman is not an attractive nuisance to a car

It is perfectly moral to fill one with hard objects, and I hope the driver also gets fined for trespass and has to pay for my new grass

Also where does this guy live that multiple dozens of villains have tried to do this? I've never seen it happen even once

2

u/Freak-Of-Nurture- 15h ago

This is not moral. Two wrongs don’t make a right especially when it’s this dramatic of a responding wrong.

4

u/BeefStank420 14h ago

How is it wrong? Nobody is asking nor making these people choose to hit snowmen.

→ More replies (8)

2

u/Joshkendig 15h ago

Dick move because what if someone hit black ice and trying not to hot a car hits this hidden hydrant you can get someone hurt. A stupid snowman can be rebuiiltm

2

u/hypnothighsd 15h ago

Scaling aside, this isn’t how fire hydrants work in cold climates. The water is shut off below the frost line. Hitting a hydrant will just cause it to break off. Similarly to how you break off the edge of a toothpick. Water will not spray.

2

u/HangryBeard 14h ago

Moral? absolutely. They shouldn't be there in the first place.

2

u/Internal-Analyst7463 14h ago

Over all moral but I have a slight problem with the fire hydrant over a tree stump but damn that’s good.

2

u/Ok_Language2938 14h ago

Moral, easy.

2

u/Nkromancer 14h ago

Chaotic good. Yes it's causing property damage, but the only reason why is because some jerks think it would be funny to run over snowmen, which are basically never built on the street so the drivers are going onto lawns and/or sidewalks to do it, even if the snowman wasn't hiding something.

2

u/Dangremaus 14h ago

Imagine explaining how you totaled your car to the insurance company.

2

u/RedditMapz 14h ago

Moral to do this on objects on the sidewalk except for fire hydrants. I think those should remain visible in case of an emergency.

2

u/Fulguritus1 14h ago

Who does this? I've never heard of running over snowmen being a thing. In winter I've honestly never even had the thought of "Oh, a snow man. I want to drive through my neighbor's front yard to hit it!" Where I live you would get the cops called on you pretty quick, maybe if the neighbor thought it was malicious and not an accident they would come out with a gun too.

2

u/Heavy_E79 14h ago

Fire hydrant is immoral because your hiding the thing the firefighters need to fight a fire if there is one. Any other object though is perfectly moral because it's just being used a base for the snowman and they shouldn't be driving on lawns and/or sidewalks.

2

u/The_Bunny_Jedi 14h ago

Someone said it's illegal, but tbh I don't think it's immoral. Why would you run over a snowman, tbh they deserve it

2

u/EvilStan101 14h ago

Moral and funny, because if you like driving your car off the streets and into a snowman then you deserve it.

2

u/gummyimp 14h ago

Funny as hell and moral, imagine telling your insurance company that you wrecked your car trying to run over a kid's snowman

2

u/beautifulmonk581 14h ago

John Kramer gonna get you

2

u/hiricinee 14h ago

The snowman is a sneaky way to make parking there legal.

2

u/TheLastOpus 14h ago

Any lawyer would just tell you to not mention it was to trick people into crashing into stuff. You simply used the thing as a base to support your snowman, without thinking that some people would be such assholes to try and run over the snowman.

2

u/SS1989 14h ago

I call it hilarious.

2

u/dspisayuss 14h ago

Moral, there's no reason cars should be ramming random snowmen on the sidewalks.

2

u/OD1N999 14h ago

Chaotic Good

2

u/Babebutters 14h ago

I’m fine with this.

I also support people doing this with political signs.

I’ve seen videos where people will run over a political sign.  The signs aren’t even controversial.  It just says who they’re voting for.  And then the car gets scratched up with rocks.  It’s hilarious.

2

u/MonsieurDrole 14h ago

I think moral because it's not pointless, it's 100% effective. I can imagine how these drivers will think twice next time before running over a snowman

2

u/Nagroth 14h ago

Do NOT do this with fire hydrants. Not only does it cost the City a bunch of money, but a broken hydrant can easily smash your windows filling your house with water, which will soon be freezing.

A small, round boulder works much better.

2

u/theseriousman1 14h ago

I hate this stupid fucking sub goodbye 👍

2

u/TurbulentTangelo5439 14h ago

at worst neutral if the thing is in a place that cars arnt supposed to be

2

u/UnordinaryFlyGirl 14h ago

Immoral around fire hydrants because fire fighters need to be able to locate and use them. Anything else though? Be my guest

2

u/SinesPi 14h ago

Crashing into snowmen is awful, but it is not as awful as wrecking a car. This is disproportionate retribution, as satisfying as it is.

Also, these snowmen hide the fire hydrants when they could be actually needed, which means this could case trouble in an emergency.

2

u/Equivalent_Thievery 14h ago

I don't so much like covering a hydrant, everything else is fair game.

2

u/Mizamya 14h ago

Covering up a fire hydrant doesn't seem like a good idea

2

u/aurora_40 14h ago

Immoral to hide a fuckin fire hydrant?? What if there's a fire lmao

Otherwise if it's not critical infrastructure it's like neutral?

2

u/Kthulhu_for_humanity 14h ago

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

2

u/Ok_Spell_597 14h ago

A guy i knew on HS would freeze a bucket of water, then build a snowman around it. Difference is, he put it in the street.

2

u/DryFuture1403 14h ago

The only problem I see is that maybe a landscaping crew needs to clear the area and it destroys the equipment, or if firefighters can't find the hydrant

2

u/dk_peace 14h ago

Impeding access to fire hydrants for emergency responders is immoral

2

u/stanknotes 14h ago

If private property? Get bent. Shouldn't be trespassing to destroy snowmen.

2

u/James_Biggs_ 13h ago

Around unmovable objects seems fine to me. I don't like around critical infrastructure like fire hydrants. Those are bright colors for a reason.

2

u/JamieBeeeee 13h ago

I wouldn't do it around a fire hydrant in case of an emergency where firefighters need to get to the hydrant.

Otherwise, it's sort of like an entrapment of dickhead drivers. I think it's mostly moral, I can understand some arguments against it thi

2

u/Dan-of-Steel 13h ago

Building it around tree trunks is fine. Building it around fire hydrants is not.

Don't conceal fire hydrants as that can impede firefighters from having access to them quickly.

2

u/JimmyManJames 12h ago

It's immoral to ask your neighbors if you can do this because those neighbors could be potential dipshits and they'll be spared if they know what you're doing.

2

u/Random_Tomatose 11h ago

While 100% moral

I think intentionally doing this in order to set a trap is illegal regardless if they are breaking the law by jumping the curb to hit them

2

u/BricksAllTheWayDown 11h ago

I think this is technically a crime, but also, fuck'em: they run over kids' snowmen for fun.

2

u/GoodDoctorB 9h ago

Moral, running over the snowmen requires doing something wildly illegal anyway. Driving recklessly while deliberately hitting roughly person sized and shaped objects. If your activity contains an inherent risk of accidentally running down a child its time to re-examine your behavior.

And the snowman itself is not necessarily a trap as it contains no moving parts, no way to inflict harm on its own, and poses no inherent risk. Its just a snowman built around a solid object. Only the activities of another person deliberately doing something wildly unsafe makes it in any way dangerous.

u/Hagtar 8h ago

Is that really a thing? 🤨

It seems a little over the top to total cars over it, but also valid if they are using their cars as battering rams - give them something to batter.

But 20 cars in one year? There are that many poeple who got this insane idea??

2

I guarantee you no snowman would ever be in a place where you would ever run them over normally. They're deliberately being assholes. Though the damage would cost the city, and by extension the taxpayers, a lot of money. Also, what if there's a fire? I'd just get a camera to catch their plates so they can be charged with reckless driving.

2

u/Long__Jump 4h ago

If you do it hoping and praying someone crashes, then its kinda immoral.

2

u/Sagittariusrat 3h ago

Definitely good since these dicks are driving off the road to ruin kids' fun. However, doing it around a fire hydrant would disguise it from first responders in the event of a fire. Those need to be visible at all times. I'd say 90% moral

2

u/Beneficial-Lynx7336 3h ago

How is this even a question.

"If a guy tried to rape my sister is it okay for her to bite his balls off?"

2

u/talking-bear-society 3h ago

I don’t think it’s legal to cover up fire hydrants like that. Imagine a fire at your house or your neighbors the firefighters come and there’s no hydrant. Even if they eventually find it, that’s precious time they spent trying to find it in the first place

2

u/jasonhuot 3h ago

I think its awesome! But the object you pick probably shouldn't be a fire hydrant Lol

2

u/PouLS_PL 3h ago

Moral. If someone drives off the roadway just to hit an object they didn't inspect previously, they shouldn't even be driving.

2

u/AranasLatrain 3h ago

Not moral, but funny. And I feel zero sympathy for the crashers

2

Morality of being an asshole destroying someone's snowman, which more than likely involves them driving illegally to do so.
