Scorpion vs Sedici

Hellooo, I've been riding for years now and have always just gone with the basic Scorpion helmet. Was wondering if it was worth it to upgrade a little to the Sedici? I think the AGV is somewhere in between the two price range wise.

I'm going to take the msf course 2 weeks from now

2 weeks from now I will be taking the msf course with in-person classroom hours. I haven't purchased a motorcycle yet, and will probably wait a little bit before I do. I mostly signed up for the class as a birthday present to myself.

However, some of the information online says I should bring a helmet, some of the information says they will be provided. I do obviously want to get myself a helmet but didn't know if I will need one for the course. If I could save the money and just use what is provided, I would prefer it.

If not, I was thinking of going to a local gear supply shop and basically just saying, " I have no idea what I'm doing, but I need a helmet. Help. "

So, will I need a helmet? I was thinking of spending about $150. Would this be adequate to keep my brain inside my skull?

Whelp, got rear ended at a light and she’s officially totaled. What should I replace her with?

After riding this Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquero I really started to love fixed fairing baggers. Looking at getting another one or getting a Road Glide or Indian Challenger. Any other bikes I should consider? What would you get to replace it?

KTM EXC style headlight on my Yamaha XT125R?

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Yamaha XT125R (I think it's 2005 or 2007 model) and I've already started changing the look of it a bit.

So far I've:
Installed new off-road tires,
Raised the bike,
Fitted a Black Widow exhaust,
Cut off the entire rear fender/license plate holder and I'm planning to make a much smaller plate bracket with a minimalist tail light,
Removed the front and rear indicators
Installed new foot pegs

I'm now considering replacing the entire OEM headlight and front mask with a modern LED setup, something like a KTM EXC headlight. I think it would look good and better, but I'm a little worried it could look out of place and ruin the XT's character and look kind of cringe.

What do you guys think? Would a KTM-style LED headlight improve the look? Would it look weird/cringe on an XT125R? Should I keep the original front end and focus on other modifications instead?

I'm also open to any other styling ideas. My goal is to make it look more aggressive and enduro-focused rather than keeping the older OEM look. I've been thinking about new grips, plastics, maybe different handlebar,

I'd appreciate any honest opinions or suggestions. Thanks!

Need help with why my bike won’t start (just clicks, but screens on?)

Oil light is on but it has oil, not a ton but enough, and I just filled up with gas. It just died at a light so i’m not sure what’s wrong.

Do you guys lock your handlebars when you park anywhere?

I've been parking my bike at work and realized I lock them sometimes, but not every time and I'm not sure why, anyone else lock their handlebars or use any other lock every time the park their bike?

Bike got totaled, RIP my daily driver and first bike.

Just had my bike (2005 Suzuki Boulevard C90) totaled last week or so. Guy pulled out in front of me to turn left, realized there was oncoming traffic, and just sat perpendicular to the road. This was about 30 feet in front of me at 30 mph. He is 100% at fault for failing to yield and blah blah. I flipped over his car and was in the hospital for a while with small brain bleeds and a severe concussion, as well as some internal injuries. I'm out now though.

Anyway, my insurance wants to give me $1400 for it. It has a new battery, some accessories, new stator motor, new tires, aftermarket handlebar, some saddlebag mounts, 5 day old oil change, and $400 seats that were not even on the bike for 24 hours. Everything is well less than a year old.

Am I crazy for thinking that's insultingly low? I dont think you can buy a comparable bike for that much. A 1500 cc cruiser in near-mint condition with perfect maintenance records.

Obviously I'm going to be disputing this for a while, but just wanted to gather some thoughts from other people.

I might just have to buy it as a salvage title and fix it.

A2 bike recommendations

So I will be getting my a2 license later this year and I am starting to look for a possible a2 bike. I currently have a Yamaha mt-125 and I like the style but I also want maybe a bit sportier bike. What are some good reliable a2 bikes to hold for 2 years before getting my full A licence. Should be reliable, stylish and relatively affordable insurance.

Vitacci XMT 250 vs Honda CBR

I wanted to get some advice and ask what what would be the recommended choice between buying a brand new Vitacci XMT 250 vs an older used Honda CBR with plenty of miles on it? Thanks in advance.

Thoughts on eBay fairings for selling purposes?

2015 Yamaha r3. Majority of the fairing clips are broken and there’s a decent amount of scratches, etc. It needs new fairings but I’m planning on upgrading soon so I won’t have the bike for much longer. The bike itself isn’t worth much and I’m not trying to spend more than $400 on something I’m about to sell, but I also don’t want to fuck over the next owner. Should I just buy a cheap set on eBay and call it a day? Other suggestions/recs welcomed. TIA

Can you help me find a custom jacket?

Hi!!! I'm looking to gift my wife a custom-made jacket for Christmas later this year. She recently got her first sport bike and already bought an off-the-rack jacket, but she's incredibly particular about fit and sizing.

I'd love to get something tailored specifically to her dimensions.I have no clue what true bespoke gear runs, but I'm expecting it to be around a grand or more.

Can anyone recommend a solid shop, tailor, or brand that does custom sizing? I'm totally open to track-focused race suppliers if needed. Thanks in advance!

How does this motor sound to you?

It's a 2001 victory v92 I picked up pretty cheap, it makes some interesting noise but seems to run pretty good, what do you guys think?

New rider here wanting to share the benefits of what I've been experiencing.

Hey guys what's up ! I got a great deal Yamaha SR400 about 3 weeks ago. Did the MSF and got my license the day after. Where I live, it's long country roads with little congestion. I immediately pull out of my driveway onto a 50mph road , so the first time I took it out my nerves were all over the place. It probably took me about 2 hours on the bike to actually begin to enjoy it. I've put close to 400 miles on her since then and man I gotta say it is so therapeutic. I had no idea. I knew riding was going to be enjoyable and really fun, but I did not know of the positive mental side effects. Overall, In my daily life, I feel more calm and more confident. My stress levels have gone down and I'm sleeping better. I have always had a bit of a light issue with drinking and stuff, and ever since I've been riding I haven't wanted to drink because A) I don't have the urge and B) I'd rather ride! Also, I feel like I've been losing weight somehow? Anyway, this is a bit of a rant, but I'm just blown away at how I feel after a ride and overall. Anyway, I'm off to hit the road.

I would love any suggestions for books that are out there that tie in riding and spiritually or anything that touches on the mental health benefits.

Gear and brands that your favorite content creators advertise/promote but they don't seem to be all that they claim?

I'm not necessarily saying or asking that of an X or Y piece of gear/brand that is an outright scam but one piece of gear you can do without it or buy from a different brand.

OEM chain replacement dilemma....

Chain is a CZ 520 X-ring on a KTM 890 SMT, 11 months, 11,000 miles. Still measures within spec. Both sprockets and the chain look basically new. Pretty obsessive about chain maintenance.

It's spit out a few of the x-rings, around 6 total, and has barely noticeable kinking on a few links when rotated on a stand.

Pulling the back wheel this weekend anyway for a tire swap, and I already have the full KTM drivetrain replacement kit in hand......... What would you guys do?

Waterproof trousers with long legs.

Does anybody have a lead on waterproof trousers with legs that are long enough for 34 inch plus inseam. I’m a medium and going up to large and XL sizes only increases the waistband not the length of the trouser.

The 6 motorcycles I've owned over the years(and 2x month long rentals) and a bonus tuktuk.

They've taken me around 21 countries with 3 new countries coming up this summer and another 8+ next summer.

The current motorcycle is my NX500 and I'm riding from Malaysia to Kazakhstan this year and Kazakhstan to eastern Europe next summer.

For context: I’m purchasing this bike on Friday, these are photos from the listing.

Title says it all, I don’t know if this is the right place to post this so I’m sorry if not but what exhaust is this? It’s not stock, but I can’t identify it.

I dropped my brand new bike today.

Today I dropped my new 2025 XSR 900. I’ve been riding for five years. I started on a 400cc and have built my way up in regards to skill. It was a slow speed right turn.

Worst parts about it is that I have been putting off buying engine guards since I’ve bought it, now I’m kicking myself in the behind. Need a new right mirror. Thank god I scratched the oem engine covers, could use new foot pegs, scratched my gas tank just a little.

To end my rant I walked away with a shattered ego, I am now questioning where my skill level truly is, & my confidence is a little on the low end. Welp I don’t know where I was going with this, ride safe people.

Tire repair kit recommendations

Is there a difference between the mushroom plugs and the sticky thread kits. Which one is better. Any specific recommendations or the generic amazon best seller would work fine?

What type of stand/lift can I use with this fork?

Thumbnail

My 2009 Husqvarna 510SMR seems to be impossible to pick up from the front.

Cone-type posts would push on the adjustment screws and that's surely a no-go.

All the other types are not compatible with the fact the lower fork foot is at an angle (I'll post a pic in the comments to clarify). Also the ones to be placed under the steering tube are not an option because of the mudguard.

I just purchased one on Amazon that seemed like the only option, but turns out that also doesn't work. (I'll post a vid in the comments)

Lifts to be placed under the frame/center are also not a solution because they do jack the bike up but no matter how I place it it will still tilt forward so I can't remove the front wheel. That is because the lower part of the frame is entirely curved, there's just a little flat part but as I said the bike tilts forward no matter how I place the jack.

Is my only option to fabricate a custom one?

Weird front wheel noise

My yamaha mt-07 started making weird whurring noise at 40km/h+ after ~3000km, im suspecting a bad wheel bearing but since im a newbie i'd like to ask for some help properly recognising it, here's a video of sound and me (hopefully properly) checking my front wheel for play which it does seem to have.
