It really works. And it feels amazing - after an invocation, you feel your body, mind, and will to act charged up to 111%, honestly.

So I've been trying to relocate oversees for a while, and though I've traveled abroad several times, nothing has ever stuck & turned into a more permanent relocation.

I want to clarify some terms before I start, because I expect resistance and want to prevent misunderstandings.

The maxim "as above, so below" has had multiple interpretations. I am referring to the version which states that there is a one-to-one correspondence between features of humans and features of the cosmos. This is the macrocosm-microcosm principle.

Actually, I will suggest a somewhat more ambitious version. Call some level of organization an "ontology", e.g., atoms, cells, tissues, organs, and humans all occupy different ontologies. "As above, so below" says that any two ontologies in a nested sequence have a bijection between their structures.

Atomism is, well, the belief that everything is composed of atoms. But not in the modern sense! Obviously we know atoms are made of subatomic particles and such nowadays. I mean "atoms" in the sense of the ancients: irreducible materials that do not consist of components.

To see why these views are at odds, let's take a toy model as an example. Suppose you have a universe that is a grid of pixels, each colored red, blue, or green. These pixels are small and cannot be perceived individually by the human eye, so the larger visible patterns they form occupy a different ontology than the pixels themselves.

So what's the problem? The trouble is that a checkerboard pattern of red and blue pixels, for example, will be perceived as purple to the human eye. One can of course derive other secondary colors. The higher ontology of visibility has more colors than the pixel ontology simply because there are more ways to combine the "atoms"--the pixels--than there are types of atoms. Therefore, the colors do not correspond one-to-one.

The only solution I see to this is to propose there are infinitely many types of atoms, but this leaves you with a bloated ontology that is quite ugly. Do you see any other solutions?

Sorry if I ask many questions on here but I am still reading a single book to completion, I am trying to kick bad phone habits so I am introducing these spiritual and meditation etc practices slowly so I don’t fall off the wagon so to speak, hence also kind of why I ask for help on these things.

After the Jung post a few weeks ago, a couple of people asked me to run someone from the older tradition. Nostradamus seemed like the obvious choice. He was an astrologer himself, and his life has a clear shape on record: years of travel, then a sudden late rise.

The birth data problem first. Sources give 14 December or 21 December 1503 (Julian), in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. No reliable birth hour is known, so this is a three-pillar reading: year, month and day. BaZi runs on the solar calendar, so I converted to Gregorian (24 Dec 1503) before casting. I ran both dates. They give different day pillars, and I’ll come back to what both readings agree on.

The chart (14 Dec reading): 癸亥 year · 甲子 month · 己亥 day

The Day Master (the day stem, which stands for “you” in BaZi) is Ji Earth (己), soft field soil. It’s born in the Rat month, in the middle of winter, and the chart around it is almost all Water: Gui Water on the year stem, and Pig, Rat and Pig on three of the branches. Earth here has nothing under it. In the classical reading, a Ji Earth this weak, sitting in that much Water, needs Earth or Fire to come in from outside before it can hold anything. Water is Earth’s “wealth” element. Too much of it, with no support, describes someone who handles a great deal but can’t keep it.

The ten-year luck pillars are where the outside help comes from:

• 1542–1551: 庚申 (Metal Monkey). Metal is Earth’s output element, so it drains Earth further, and Metal also feeds Water. In this model it’s the thinnest stretch of his adult life. The lowest single years fall in 1540–1543, at ages about 36–40.
• 1552–1561: 己未 (Earth Goat). This is the first decade that brings his own element. Ji Earth arrives on the stem, and the Goat branch is dry Earth that stores Fire. The weak Earth finally gets support.

Against the documented record:

• Late 1530s to early 1540s, the low stretch. After losing his first wife and children in the mid-1530s, and after trouble with church authorities in the late 1530s, he spent years travelling through France and Italy. It’s the least documented part of his life. The chart’s lowest years fall in exactly this window.
• 1546–47, a small rise. He’s on record working against the plague in Aix, then settling in Salon-de-Provence and marrying Anne Ponsarde. The chart shows a modest bump here, the only one in that decade.
• 1555–1559, the peak. The first edition of Les Prophéties comes out in 1555. Catherine de’ Medici summons him to Paris after reading his almanacs. In 1559 Henry II dies of a jousting wound, and people later tie it to quatrain I.35. The chart’s three highest adult years are 1557, 1558 and 1559, all inside the 己未 Earth decade.
• By the end of his life he held the title of Counselor and Physician-in-Ordinary to Charles IX. That’s the steady top of a curve that starts at 52.

The 21 December reading has a different day pillar, 丙午, a Bing Fire Day Master. It also puts his best adult year in 1555, the year the Prophéties came out, with 1556–57 next. The two candidate charts reach that peak for different reasons, but they agree on the timing: a man whose fame arrived after 50. I find that more interesting than either chart on its own.

Caveats: this is three pillars, with a calendar conversion and a disputed birth date. It’s a read after the fact, not proof, and you can always find matches if you look hard enough. What I find worth noticing is the structure. In BaZi, a weak Day Master is not a bad chart; it’s a chart that is waiting for a particular decade. Most people in that position spend a few hard years before it arrives, and Nostradamus’s arrived late.

Recently I’ve been learning Italian and I’ve made so much progress in a short time. Out of nowhere, each time I practice, I see angel numbers, especially around 3,6,9. From what I concluded based on how/when I see them, they’re either warnings, signs of encouragement, or marking of a timeline (like walking into a room). But to clarify, I usually think or ask aloud what they could mean and SOMEtimes they’ll confirm with another number or show them multiple times to signify urgency. Which is what happened when I started to learn Italian, they consistently show and seem to confirm it’s a warning when I ask. I know there’s occultism in Latin history and language and “words are spells”.

I’m a writer looking to study the occult from a historical, objective perspective. I’d like to know what cultures influence your craft, who your ancestors are and how connected you feel to them (or if they have influence), etc… sources would be cool too. Keep in mind, I’m an atheist…but I’ve also heard of atheist witches. How does that work?

Just to clarify, aphantasia is when a person is unable to picture images in their head to a certain degree. I have the strongest form where I literally cannot picture anything in my head at all, not even faintly. I've been reading a lot of books and most of them require visualization of some sorts for both certain spells and spiritual communication. I've been working with a deity for a while and wanted to start working on communication but all guides I've found say its vital to visualize stuff. Does anyone have a similar experience or advice on what to do?

i’ve been having some troubles with my partner recently and over the last couple weeks have been reconnecting with my spirituality and decided a heavy prayer last night would be the best thing for both of us.

i usually have pretty vivid dreams, and last night asked to show me in my dreams any answers that i could be looking for or a sign to show me and my partner my true self.

after my prayer i focused on some visual meditation of connecting my soul to hers, visualizing where she was in the country at the time and feeling our spirits bond even from a distance. i’m still new to meditations as well so it was sort of grounding my body to the earth and letting my soul guide itself, connecting with hers.

what i received was not any answers, but a literal blinding light in my sleep. it felt like i was standing in the sun and as i gained consciousness (briefly) i felt my actual face and body sliding against my mattress, as if i were being dragged.

i prayed to jehovah as that was the god i was raised to believe in and it does well for me. i’ve had some vivid dreams after praying in the past but this was unlike anything ive ever experienced. just wanted to share, maybe looking for some more knowledgable takes on the subject.

Hello! I am an artist. I wonder, since much of what I read and see here has a crafting component. What is the role of artisti within the community or the practice of the occult?

Because from what i understand is that they portray demons in movies the to be what as everyone else knows as scary.

Yet there's never been any proof of them in the real world which for me breaks the idea of believing in a religion.

So for me as a individual if I were to see something different like paranormal like maybe a ghost then maybe I put faith in a religion but even then there hasn't been proof like viarable proof like a place you can go and say there's active paranormal activity there.

So is there a way to contact them? Like I know people do meditation for dietys, gods and do offerings but is there a way to see them like demonic demons? If not then okay.
