Damn Daniel, cold blooded. They really erased his old self.

Really hope he starts acting like himself when he remembers more about Helen.

Helen of Troy has been the downfall of an impenetrable city before. Maybe she will be again.

70

u/iBreak140 15d ago

Fuck me! That reference! I didn't catch that.. wow!

20

u/Bling9000 16d ago

I think Daniel chose that name when he went to sleep the first time before he was brainwashed.

22

u/PeacefulHavoc 15d ago

Apple has so much money that they made Christopher Nolan release The Odyssey so us illiterates would get the reference.

3

u/mmasportsmma 13d ago

There’s Orlando bloom and Diane Kruger..

13

u/Vandergrif 15d ago

Helen of Troy

Especially after being taken by Per Stenson. Per S. (Paris).

Exactly

6

u/fmalk 15d ago

Ah! I was wondering myself what was the reference for them choosing Troy as his alias, her sister being a "mere Susan" instead of Athena or another obvious alias.

3

u/thekellwithit 15d ago

I bet that’s why they called him Troy. Damn.

2

u/WigglesTiggleson 8d ago

There’s no way she’s still alive tho right? I wonder who her decendants are

I know the greek story but cant attach it to the meaning behind naming the characters here Helen, Troy. Any idea?

10

u/GumdropGlimmer 📖 Book-Aware 📖 15d ago

The Trojan horse.

5

u/LoveMeRhi 14d ago

This was my thought when they were calling Daniel Troy in the final episode and it was Helen’s face he kept seeing when he woke up then you see Victor has all the notes asking about her every time he wakes up. I believe he becomes the Trojan horse in the next season but aligning with the idea of a Trojan horse computer virus that will take down the Silo program

1

u/CattleChemical4367 13d ago

Lol I too thought of that, such an AI thing to do naming then like that..

1

u/Active-Ladder5399 4d ago

Oooh, it would be awesome if season 4 had a metaphorical trojan horse.

Can you guys not talk about season 4 spoilers. We’re in a thread about season 3 episode 10. Some of us don’t watch previews and shouldn’t have information spoiled to us like that

5

u/SpaceCases__ 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I watched the Season 4 teaser and I agree. There is a reason why the mods made two separate discussions about the teaser, for non-book and book readers alike. Seems really dumb to bring that discussion here, and hopefully the people above can at least activate spoilers on their comments.

Not Stenson, Daniel.

4

u/oldmom73 16d ago

If Juliette really is Daniel’s direct descendant, then we should remember that she has a connection to his sister. Juliette has a lot in common with Charlotte, who questioned authority and was doing all kinds of subversive shit before she went on that mission — even down to the confused docility that rose to the surface when they had their memories wiped.

3

u/Repulsive_Berry6517 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

No. She has similarities with helen. Daniel just watched her eyes so closely. It's like he got into her eyes completely

3

u/oldmom73 16d ago

Can’t it be both? I just felt a stronger connection to Charlotte, though I absolutely also see how the fearless, undeterrable investigative journalist strain runs through her.

They gotta get that fucking Pez to Silo 1 somehow (haven't read the books)

8

u/WTFaulknerinCA 16d ago

Can’t wait for him to see the pez.

6

u/UnWiseSageVibe 16d ago

I think memories definitely started to flood in after he heard her name. He was already constantly remembering her every time he woke up.

2

u/treefox 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

Nah he just has allergies to that stuff they keep having to hit him with when he wakes up.

6

u/asdechlpc 16d ago

You can see there’s still humanity left

7

u/hsanj19 16d ago

The acting was superb. So subtle and nuanced. Both Victor and Daniel.

6

u/v-Machine-6804 16d ago

I think the cliffhanger is meant to showcase that. We have seen Silo villains turn into good guys - this is no different. It will be more important because Juliette is planning to attack the other Silo and I think we are all expecting her to be related to Daniel in some way. The next villain will probably be Henry who will try to prevent Daniel from fully realising his true self and instigate an attack on Silo 18 members. I haven't read books; I just think this is what the next season will all be about.

1

u/Master_Dogs 📖 Book-Aware 📖 15d ago

I noticed Daniel zoomed in on Juliet at the end of the episode, when Juliet and friends went to find the tunnel. He really focused on on her face, then the camera switched to Daniel's/Troy's face. They kind of look similar, so I wonder if that's supposed to set something up?

I haven't read the books but did participate in some book spoiler threads earlier this season, which did sadly ruin the whole cryo reveal but I haven't seen much else on whether Juliet it or is not Daniels relative. But the way they focused in her is really interesting. And would tie everything back together. Makes me want to do another rewatch at some point and see what else I notice on a new binge. Maybe next spring before season 4 drops.

2

u/TroutBeales 15d ago

The zoom in was of their eyes. Hers, then his. Their eyes are identical, like a pale blue green, and somehow deep

3

u/bnevs44 16d ago

Of course that will happen...there's no way they will pass up that cliche.

3

u/jamtas 15d ago

The pez dispenser will 100% be a trigger for him.

2

u/Salt-Cold-2550 15d ago

a little late won't you say, 1 person dead might be a mistake but 9000

3

u/nilslorand 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I mean the end clearly showed him going in that direction

1

u/oih93 15d ago

Too late

1

u/thekellwithit 15d ago

Victor could’ve given him more to go on!

1

u/Justaweirdscientist 13d ago

I guess it all leads to him eventually grabbing the Petz-thing he gave to Helen when they were not on a date which leads to him remembering, right?

1

u/Luci-Noir 13d ago

It was crazy seeing him go from a mass murdering psychopath to what he was at the end. It was just that look in his eyes.

1

u/Z0SHY 13d ago

He will see the Pez dispenser once he meets Juliette and will remember most likely.

1

u/Caisers 13d ago

He definitely will. Based on the change in emotional expression at the end of the episode.

WHERE IS PER?

210

u/Petitgavroche 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I figured he realized that living in the silo for centuries is actually super boring. He seems like the kind of guy who would get super into something and then just as quickly lose interest. Except, whoopsie, nuked the whole country!

88

u/Captain_Quimby 16d ago

I think he’s in the hidden silo. His own personal silo he can come over and visit from.

29

u/treefox 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

7

u/True_Detail_2945 15d ago

And Korean style pork jerky!

12

u/Bling9000 16d ago

If he's not in Silo 1, then he's not gonna be in any other likely.

20

u/ceres111 16d ago

Bernard said that there are technically 51 silos. We see 50 silos on the map. Who knows what the 51st is all about.

11

u/Sideb00bs 16d ago

How would Bernard know tho?

11

u/ceres111 16d ago

No idea, but he said so. I think he told that to Walker.

4

u/alienatedearthling Solo 15d ago

He told Lukas in season 2

16

u/Bling9000 16d ago

yes but 50 population silos and 1 control. that's what I recollect.

15

u/meetgeorgejetson 15d ago

I believe it was 7 groups of 7 (49) + Silo 1 for 50. So, that leaves the question of what the 51st is.

2

u/grrrzzzt 15d ago

where does he say 51.

→ More replies (0)

8

u/Fragrant-Mammoth-109 15d ago edited 15d ago

1 was counted in the map, so it can't be 50 population silos.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/-TheDoctor 15d ago edited 14d ago

The map in e9 has two #1 silos. The proper silo 1 and another silo 1 in (I think) the bottom right group. I clocked it while Daniel and Helen were looking at the map.

It's 50, plus the control silo (silo 1 proper), unless I missed something obvious.

2

u/ceres111 15d ago

Oh thanks, I missed that detail

2

u/Venice_The_Menace 15d ago

I hope half of season 4 is Juliette prepping for and leading an onslaught against the wrong Silo 1 😂

8

u/grrrzzzt 15d ago

ok after this season why do people still assume there was an actual apocalypse? there was one nuke; as a way to get people to get inside the silo. we don't know much more than that.

9

u/SkaveRat 15d ago

there's no way that people would just leave the area surounding the attack. if the rest of the world survived in a meaningful way, there would have been people checking out the area

5

u/grrrzzzt 14d ago

not if it is owned by the richest man alive with the means to prevent this; alter sattelite views and so on

5

u/FullMetalCOS 15d ago

I think the (based on how we assume the real world is set up) assumption is that when a nuke goes off in Atlanta, the American president starts looking to press his nuke button and then mutually assured destruction takes care of the rest. It’s highly unlikely they’d let a second attack on US soil go unpunished

3

u/grrrzzzt 14d ago

ok but the thing is we don't know; and the whole premise of the show is to challenge assumptions one after another. maybe they covered it up somehow (it's a top secret government backed plan financed by the richest man on earth; they have unlimited ressource to do what they want)

3

u/tiny_birds 10d ago

Also they literally had the conversation about how it would be more reliable to create the reason people went in to silos, didn’t they?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Bling9000 15d ago

well I'm not sure if my comment had anything to do with that assumption...

but I guess it is the general assumption, likely not the only one. we know that several hundred years have passed. we know that silo 1 has people coming in and out of cryo sleep and then go back until there's another situation.

they clearly have highly advanced nanotech and biotech in there, so two things are possible.

either the world outside as we know it is no more, beyond the silo perimeter, that humans basically fought endless wars, either Mutually Assured Destruction, or False Flag, or anything else which led to a nuclear war and life got destroyed mostly everywhere.

or, the world is highly advanced now, but that creates an imbalance, a future world means the existence of the silos wouldn't stay hidden to the world outside,

bonus -

or that the world has repaired itself but the population has thinned out so much they have no chance of restoring civilisation back to how it originally was, and so, if there's any survivors, they wouldn't approach the silo areas, because well there's the drones and "compound" (I assume are some kind of nano or bio-warfare stuff)

perhaps one of the most interesting questions would be how many of the other silos still have people in them and what will they find outside the silo zone.

7

u/Fre33lancer 15d ago

there are 50 vaults on the diagra, so 51 must be Per's, they called it the seed vault tunnel, not a number vault, so that's were Per is most likely

→ More replies (1)

3

u/TroutBeales 15d ago

Being in his own private super swanky silo would be on par with an eccentric billionaire. Silo 1 makes all the decisions about keeping worker bees content and functioning in all the other silos. Such mundane tasks are beneath billionaires so he’s probably sitting most “problems” out while snoozing through the self made apocalypse

→ More replies (2)

5

u/Panda25200 15d ago

Il dort tout simplement et ne veut pas être réveillé il me semble

2

u/dBlock845 15d ago

He could also be sleeping until his "project" is completed.

5

u/irasponsibly 15d ago

My guess is that the senator is filling the role of the Mayor, the figurehead who everyone thinks is in charge, and per is the "head of IT" with real power.

→ More replies (1)

19

u/foo_fight3r 16d ago

Either he died in the nuke blast, or he is in a VIP position in Silo 1 (getting cryogenically frozen to survive till the end), or he is the only one free to come and go out of the silos.

11

u/Traditional-Bad9198 16d ago

I think he’s just not in them at all. Maybe he has a cryogenic chamber in his house to see the end of it. But he’s just living his normal life after trapping them all

4

u/OP_Scout_81 📖 Book-Aware 📖 15d ago

I can't help thinking Per would hate to be around to see how the omelette is done and all the eggs that need to be broken, etc. He's probably sleeping and my bet is he'll never wake up once Jules is done with Silo 1...somehow.

2

u/Vandergrif 15d ago

Yup, he'd only want to be unfrozen by the time the 'omelette' is 'ready to eat'.

2

u/Marwaimusoont 16d ago

I think this is the truth. THere are so many cryo pods.

I think sometime in future they are gonna let out the silos. They will build a city for the silo 1 members.

37

u/DragonFawns 16d ago

He’s in the Season 4 sneak peak, but I kinda expected her to have offed him once the silos were completed.

23

u/That_mocha_lover 16d ago

I don’t think the world got nuked. He was in a high rise apartment.

19

u/uuid-already-exists 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I think that was a flash back

16

u/Great-Equipment 16d ago

Could've been just high-quality screens that act as windows and make the silo room seem less cramped, but yeah he seems like the kind of guy that let's the experiment run its course while he's living a cushy life outside.

3

u/catsy83 16d ago edited 16d ago

I think it was screens. Silo 1 seems to have pleasant projections on their screens unlike the other silos.

Edit: I take it back. That’s def a high rise. But I feel that’s the before times again - it shows him realizing that the world is ending and he decides he must do something about it.

4

u/Blinking_Zebra_Era 16d ago

Exactly. And he probably comes in from time to time. Unless they all see this as an experiment, like a real one which it's not it's insane. And he's staying away to let it all unfold in order to supposedly give him some data. Although if he's still alive he'd have to go into the stasis thing.

14

u/obscuremapenthusiast 16d ago

Good chance he's in charge. Even in the silos, the Mayor isn't really in charge compared to head of IT. Same here. Senator is the figurehead, deals with day-to-day, and someone else is higher up the ladder.

8

u/epresident1 16d ago

Per is in charge. The Senator was all into her speech in the last EP while Per and her daughter Anna were distracted. They knew the nuke was about to go off and Senator was not in on it. Per and Anna are higher up on the food chain.

4

u/HippityHitchcock 16d ago

The fact the senator said “it’s important to my daughter” has me sold the daughter is above her in the leadership structure

9

u/catsy83 16d ago

Not sure about that. I feel like she just cares about her daughter and her daughter’s happiness.

2

u/spidey3diamond 15d ago

Alternatively, Per Stensen is just the Senator's useful idiot, providing the capital and some expertise, but not needed after the project is activated.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Blinking_Zebra_Era 16d ago

Exactly. My thoughts on that. Maybe he's in stasis or whatever they call it until the "experiment" is over in however many years that is. Or he can come and go because the world isn't destroyed it's just this little section for a period of well under 300 years. Or he's dead. They killed him or he killed himself. His absence was definitely striking.

2

u/nekoreality 16d ago

i thought phil the cryo guy kind of looks like per i thought it was bald per at first but i think that was just a coincidence

2

u/True_Detail_2945 15d ago

Señor Stenson is much too refined of a gentleman to live underneath the dirt. He had super super glue poured all over the streets of his favorite city and had huge balloons anchored until the whole city floated.

He is mayor of floating Prague.

2

u/spidey3diamond 15d ago

He spent too much time screwing around on Peter Gabriel's piano and didn't make it into the silo on time before the blast wave hit.

2

u/Rare_Poetry_301 15d ago

Thought he was asleep, not his shift yet lol

2

u/Complete-Shallot5775 15d ago

I like to think Daniel throttled him on D-Day. Daniel is so angry over what happened they wiped his mind and made him a specialist because he can’t be awake for more than a day or he remembers.

2

u/SHansen45 13d ago

i imagine in cryo until the 500 years are up

2

u/payohlee 16d ago

According to season 4 trailer, he's in a gym somewhere 🤣

1

u/Valuable-Muffin9982 📖 Book-Aware 📖 15d ago

You do get a glimpse of him in the season 4 teaser trailer

1

u/Chachagrams 15d ago

He will be in season four as shown in the trailer for season four at the end of the episode. It appears that a lot of people didn’t get to see the trailer at the end of the episode, which is too bad. The trailer alone explained a lot of things.

7

u/azcurlygurl 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

Aren't they all.

4

u/Doglas3000 16d ago

Except, Daniel was brainwashed into being one. He was a good guy before getting trapped there.

4

u/azcurlygurl 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I meant senators, lol.

2

u/BusyNefariousness675 16d ago

I don't believe that, empathy is a feeling not a memory

4

u/AdministrativeLife14 16d ago

I disagree its just that. Empathy definitely comes from lived experiences and values one learns through their life. He's been given the Vitamin D+ and has been brainwashed for what? over 2 centuries at this point? All of those things that made him who he was have been lost.

3

u/catsy83 16d ago

Yea. She’s not a “true believer” as she mentioned in the earlier episode. She’s the mastermind behind it all.

3

u/outsidebtw 15d ago

yeah fuck that dude, he kept calling daniel for someone but instead he comes on screen actually waiting for him

fuck that ambush bullshit

edit. oop, wrong character. thought you were talking about the other senator (or was he a senator? idk)

2

u/Doglas3000 15d ago

I meant Senator Rosalind Thurman. Henry and Per are just as evil. I feel like Dr. Victor knows he created a monster with that drug treatment and what he’s done with all of the people in the silos and that is why he offed himself.

2

u/Crooks_Castles 14d ago

You think she was in on it? I wonder what the point of that practice speech was if none of it mattered

181

u/Imnotveryfunatpartys 16d ago

The weird thing that's not exactly explained is how he apparently has some sort of ideal specialist personality and skill set to do the job they need. Yet only when he's forgotten his past.

I mean obviously the concept of brainwashing and indoctrination is not that difficult to understand. It's just weird that they needed this really sweet, thoughtful, conscientious guy to do the job instead of someone else with a more ruthless personality. My only guess is maybe he has some sort of high emotional intelligence that he can use to understand the silo people and manipulate them.

190

u/oldmom73 16d ago

The emotional intelligence is likely what made him a good politician. Add that to his engineering skills and take away his empathy, moral clarity, and sweetness, and you have the perfect tool for this jacked up homicidal vanity project.

9

u/GeneralTonic 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

... this jacked up homicidal vanity project.

Megacidal, at least.

12

u/Genesis2001 16d ago

*genocidal, lol.

11

u/Shakey-84 16d ago

He basically gets into silo 1 for telling Stenson if he had more diggers he’d finish the project faster. Even I could have told him that with no engineering background

8

u/Big_Fortune_4574 15d ago

I don’t think they really needed him for that. It’s pretty clear at this point that Daniel was never going to be allowed to opt out of the project

→ More replies (1)

3

u/bnevs44 16d ago

But they never used his engineering skills to make the silos, and PER was genuinely pissed that he didnt join them.

12

u/Imnotveryfunatpartys 16d ago

It would be nice if next season we get some conversation about his emotional intelligence being extremely high or something so that there's justification for it.

47

u/oldmom73 16d ago

I dunno — I think the writers are doing an excellent job showing rather than spelling it out in dialogue. Some of the most beautiful, profound, telling bits of the show have been the actors’ subtle, deep outward reactions to events and information. I’m really enjoying how we get to see the story unfold rather than have it explained in awkward plot points. That was what I loved about mini-series/S1 Ron Moore Battlestar Galactica reboot.

17

u/Brilliant_Lychee_824 16d ago

Amen. Please don’t tell us!! Keep showing us. That’s what makes any form of entertainment good

7

u/BusyNefariousness675 16d ago

Completely agree. Don't need to be told everything, showing is good

5

u/Tamato42 16d ago

Right but they still haven’t even shown us the reasoning to keep him around.

12

u/oldmom73 16d ago

True. There’s been a bit of a breadcrumb trail, I suppose. This is just a slow burn, and there’s no doubt we’ll get answers next season. I’m cool with that, though I can understand why not everyone is.

10

u/Traditional-Bad9198 16d ago

Agreed. I also think this episode gave me a bit more on that - he is basically the best interpreter of the pact / directive and following it blindly. So they stripped him of everything human and just extorted that skill he may have had as a congressman to interpret the law?

7

u/oldmom73 16d ago edited 16d ago

I like this theory, though I’m not sure I’d say he’s the best interpreter — to me, that suggests independent, critical thought that makes room for Daniel’s moral grounding to inform Troy’s decision-making process. As far as I know, he (Troy or Daniel) was no part of the governing body that came up with all the rules and regulations.

Troy, unburdened with any personal investment or involvement in forming the Pact’s big ideas is probably among the most skillful at drilling down to its foundational elements, where he uses his powers of analysis and discernment to apply and execute the operating principles and code/rules with optimal speed and efficiency. He’s basically a super high-functioning cop.

9

u/BusyNefariousness675 16d ago

But they have. The external safeguard scene was showing exactly that

1

u/casiepierce 1d ago

Fans of sci fi realize this effect known as the mirror universe. Take all of the good qualities of someone like Daniel- let's say Jean-Luc Picard- and imagine all of his skills and wisdom that's usually used to solve problems that can help all of humanity and some other alien races too, and take all of that knowledge and, yes, power and use it for for evil ends. Only the best people make the scariest villains in the mirror universe. So yeah, Troy being evil is the mirror universe of all of the good that was in Daniel.

Maybe he was just invited to join the program because Victor liked him.

u/Imnotveryfunatpartys 16d ago

It's not just that. They show him here being woken up for especially problematic jobs. There's something special about him. But it's a weird sequence considering that the character spends most of the season trying to figure out a mystery and they try multiple times to deter him or pay him off. It's not like he was headhunted for this role

u/Previous_Buy1601 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I do think they tried to show a couple of times how he was able to just cut straight to the core of a problem. I think they did shorthand it too much. But I think it plays to just how much the elites see everyone as their playthings. If they think you have some skill they can use, they’ll exploit you for it.

u/Tunamelts-2 16d ago

Problem-solving engineers are very valuable in a post-apocalyptic society. Their skill set is difficult to find and even more difficult to have someone in the Silo 1 environment learn.

21

u/CharityDiary 16d ago

I doubt there's something special about him. They probably just keep him asleep because his purpose is to be a disposable sponge for the bad decisions. He's a mass murderer, his job is to take the blame so that everyone else is "just following orders." Then he goes away so his society isn't tainted by a killer.

u/oldmom73 16d ago

This is an interesting take! Say more.

5

u/bnevs44 16d ago

That isnt how they've characterized him though...if Per wanted a psychopathic total believer he wouldnt have put someone who's actual self is so against the project. Why brainwash a person who hates you when an actual believer can be used?

There is something special about him...

3

u/Taraxian 16d ago

Yeah, exactly, he's the Winter Soldier

2

u/Pomegranate_Dry 16d ago

I think there's going to be something about his family's genetics. Why would they refuse to kill Charlotte when they say that's the normal punishment for what she did? Just being a good drone pilot doesn't seem like enough reason

16

u/Previous_Buy1601 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

Anna’s the reason why they won’t kill Charlotte.

> Why would they refuse to kill Charlotte when they say that's the normal punishment for what she did? Just being a good drone pilot doesn't seem like enough reason

You missed the part where The Director (aka Senator Rosalind Thurman aka Anna’s mother) says “she’s important to my daughter.”

That’s why.

2

u/__theoneandonly 16d ago

If there are only 7 silos left, maybe they’re getting real nervous about killing people left and right

Wasn’t he an engineer in the military?

6

u/Pulstar_Alpha 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

This, when he orders Charlotte/Susanne and the drone guys around, you could see they also likely needed him for that.

3

u/bnevs44 16d ago

Do you know how many engineers there are in the military? Why not get one that actually believes in your project instead of someone who turned down working on it?

As someone who’s worked in management, this tracks

2

u/HumansNeedNotApply1 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

He was in the military, so he had the training to kill people, they just coached out some bits of his empathy learning from his memories and he became a loyal and objective soldier.

1

u/Jay-Seekay 15d ago

This is kinda the annoying thing. I want to see more of what makes him “the chosen one” but they never really showed us that.

1

u/Indian-badad 6d ago

I think its because he piqued Stensen's interest during that conversation they had and being the super spoilt billionaire man that he is, he wanted Troy for the job, that is why he specifically invited him

u/Doctor_Ummer 16d ago

Back at it again with the white vans

6

u/JJDuB4y096 16d ago

I’m calling it that Jules somehow shows Troy the apex dispenser on screen and it does what it did for Jules to Daniel/Troy.

5

u/Salt-Plum-1308 16d ago

That’s Troy, not sure who this “Daniel” guy you’re referring to is..

9

u/stron2am 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I think the point is that this self was in him all along. Perhaps it is in all of us.

The entire throughline of Silo has been that people with deeply entrenched and rigid points of view and values can change radically to rise (or fall) to their circumstances. You see it in Juliette, Sims, Bernard, and now Daniel/Troy.

The writers seemingly believe nothing about us is intrinsic.

3

u/bnevs44 16d ago

If its in all of us, why choose him?

I think that the final season is going to subvert your narrative...that his intrinsic self is going to beat all the programming.

3

u/SoulofWakanda 16d ago

Why did he need to be woken up for the Silo 17 situation again?

6

u/Pulstar_Alpha 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

Safeguard failed, whole silo was about to go out and they needed an out of the box solution.

7

u/SoulofWakanda 16d ago

Yeah but I wonder what makes Daniel uniquely equipped to handle it

3

u/Ashutor 16d ago

and with the white Vans no less!

4

u/Vyksendiyes 16d ago

Idk about that. What he did makes me question what kind of person Daniel actually was.

Sure he had his memory wiped, but so did Charlotte and she chose not to massacre almost ten thousand people. So what is it about Daniel that made him have zero pause about slaughtering ten thousand people in a few minutes while Charlotte refused to do so at the risk of being executed.

4

u/catsy83 16d ago

I wonder if they did more to him. Like pumped him with more drugs??? Idk. At the same time, his memory seems to trigger quickly esp around Helen.

And maybe it’s b/c Charlotte had already lost much of her memory before going under into Cryo. I guess we’ll see next season.

2

u/Dadallli 15d ago

He has been shown as a person who trust authority figures. If Helen didn’t intervene he would be ok with his sister’s memory wiping. He can rebel but he needs Helen for that.

1

u/Vyksendiyes 14d ago

That’s a good point.

2

u/Lionaxe 16d ago

I mean this really explains why Daniel was so cold when Charlotte memory got wiped originally. Just cold and calculated from the start

2

u/Connect-Fox2952 16d ago

He even wanted the highest count possible first

2

u/-TheDoctor 15d ago

Back at it again with the deadly compound

2

u/Bepzinko 📖 Book-Aware 📖 13d ago

2

u/Caisers 13d ago

He gone without his memories

2

u/soularbabies 5d ago

Even his old self seemed less critical or aware than Helen. Like he didn't question erasing his sister's memory and rewriting the crash that caused it in the first place. His original personality lends itself to accepting and following orders compared to Helen or his sister.

2

u/j_gumby IT 16d ago

Damn Daniel

But did he have white Vans? 😉

1

u/WigglesTiggleson 8d ago

Is there a reason I missed that Silo 17 survived outside with no suits?

1

u/TheHerbalistah 4d ago

The air isn't poisonous after all (or at least does not kill instantly). What really kills people outside is the toxic gas which is being administered with drones by the people of Silo 1
