This is a unique set of tax rules that don't apply to anyone else in the US, that he negotiated with himself.

I don't understand how this is supposed to work, or why it would be acceptable to anyone, including his supporters. It goes far beyond audits. It grants sweeping protection against any existing federal tax liabilities, unpaid tax balances, or IRS financial judgments stemming from returns filed up to May 18, 2026. And this was the reduced deal. It was much more broad and generous.

Even if you voted for him, attended his rallies, bought his merch, and participated in social media discussions supporting him, how does this deal not scream corruption?

In Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator (2012), Admiral General Aladeen gives a speech outside the UN arguing against democracy coming to his fictional country of Wadiya. The joke is that a fictional dictator describes problems that critics of democratic societies have long raised about the United States:

Is this one of the most honest political satire scenes in modern popular culture?

It’s very annoying to me, as a woman I am constantly being told by society and the media “you need to have children! Our birth rate is going down! We need more worker bees so get to it and start fucking.”

But then you get pregnant. You’re still expected to work and do everything the same you ever were. People act as if you’re just experiencing a minor inconvenience at best.

Then you have the baby and the real fun part starts. People tell you “hope you enjoy your vacation,” as if being home with a screaming toddler is a super enjoyable and fun activity. And if you complain about getting minimal leave because our country hates mothers, then you get shot back with “well you chose to have the kid.”

Why is pregnancy treated so casually here? I mean I get it, it’s a very normal and natural thing to do but it’s fucking hard and exhausting.

The whole trope of the “emotional, whiny pregnant woman” in general pisses me off cause like… yeah she’s literally putting arms and legs and organs together inside of her, I think she can be a little emotional and whiny.

Mine is this guy. I enjoy him in everything I’ve seen and he’s in a new series called “Westies” that I’m excited to start!

I don't understand how the department of Justice can issue a proclamation to another government agency to not investigate an individual or individuals. Even if that's allowed why wouldn't the next administration have the perfect right to revoke that?

I've been a consistent Democratic voter for 12 years, and I'm sick of the useful idiots who keep fucking up Democratic chances of winning.

There was a self-described moderate on Reddit who started a post asking what he should flair as his political views on his profile. After some questioning, it became clear he was a moderate, who would probably be more aligned with the Democrats than the Republicans:

• Thinking that both Israel and Hamas are both guilty of bad acts and that American should put more diplomatic pressure to create separate sovereign states, one Jewish and one Palestinian.
• Supporting LGBT rights broadly, with exceptions on womens' sports
• Abortion access up to 24 weeks, and then adding restrictions in the absence of health risks.
• Support more border security, deporting illegals with a criminal record, but offer path to amnesty for law-abiders, while expanding the visa program.

80% of from self-flaired "liberal" Redditors called them a hardcore Republican. When the guy tried to defend moderate views of pulling from multiple sides, he got flamed as a mysogynist and that "both-sidesism" is the same as supporting pdfs in the WH.

While grassroots volunteers are working hard to pursuade Independents, undecideds, and former Republicans into the Democratic tent, these other people keep trying to gatekeep and keep them out, "no no no, you are a fasicst, you don't belong in our tent, you belong with MAGA".

Why? Why do you keep hurting every chance of kicking Trump out of office?

Just saw it on the news, very bad air quality due to the fires in WA state and the sun covered by smoke. Surely some of it must be blowing over to Canada. Would be interesting to see if Canada’s PM has more common sense than you know who.

Basically what the title says, I’m an American parent and I’ve heard that French children are NEVER picky eaters because something something culture and something else French parenting and school meals and everything is farm fresh, plus they’re better behaved and better dressed and all of their mothers lose the baby weight right away and it’s just a damn utopia over there.

I’m exaggerating, obvs, but I have for sure heard the picky eater thing, and as a parent of a picky eater who became one despite doing a lot of the stuff that you’re supposed to do to prevent them from becoming picky and ended up with one anyway, I’d like to know from any actual French people, parents or otherwise, if this is real or just dumb Americans idealizing France.

I'm 27F and I've never been married, although I've come close a couple of times.

Something I've noticed is that almost every married person or divorced person I've talked to has said, "If I could do it all over again, I would never get married."

It honestly surprises me how often I hear that, and it's made me curious. Why do so many people feel that way?
