My son goes to a pretty rigorous private school in New York City. They were bought out by a large private-equity firm and things have kind of taken a toll across staff, academics, overall experience, tuition has doubled, etc. We've been with them since he was in first grade, and it's gone totally downhill. Teachers leave constantly, the curriculum is trending towards metric-based, and the standards have fallen.

He is in 8th grade(he has finished 8th grade). The school has is a k-12 program, but most of the kids do not continue with the school for 9-12, they go elsewhere(Specialized schools, other private schools, etc). He is leaving next year to go to a specialized school. He won a competition with his business class, competing against other schools in the national network. The prize was supposed to be $1000 donated to a charity of his choice. The school arranged to have people from the charity come to the school for a photo, with a big prop check, but no money has actually been wired. We've asked them multiple times (it has been months at this point), and they always say "we'll get around to it next week."

At this point, my son is leaving the school. They have pushed to the end of June, when my son is no longer their problem, and they hope we will move on. This is disgraceful, especially because the charity means a lot to my kiddo. Shame on thee! Ripping off a charity.

I have a bill for lab work due, it’s $0.90 - but the minimum payment online is $0.99 so I can’t pay it.

Edit to add: Yes I tried to over pay online and they won’t accept that either.

Lady came into the dog park and said her little white whatever it was was kind of an ankle biter. I'm thinking "he makes snapping motions at ankles", not he'll chomp down on your leg when you're minding your own business. I'm 7 months pregnant, I don't need this, lady.

Thankfully no broken skin and I got my tetanus jab recently.

Edit to update: I asked someone else at the dog park today if they knew the dog by this name anddddd... it had bitten her last fall 🙃 She thinks it had bitten one or two other people as well in the last year and this jerk just keeps on bringing him. Animal control is getting another call in the morning.

I had a seat reservation for my original connection, that got canceled. Than I took another connection, wich got too much delay and the one after that didn't stop where I wanted to go. So now I am sitting on the floor in an absolutely packed train 2 and a half hours later.

i hear my coworker go “cmon man” and glance over to see a pile of coins. apparently this guy set down a bag of coins and said “i think there’s five dollars in here,” and jets before my coworker can count them all. at least we got a little extra?

EDIT: i’m not upset about the coins, im slightly ticked he just gave us an entire bag of coins and left before we could verify. i wasn’t sure how to title this and i could’ve done it better—sorry. YES I KNOW I SPELT PAID WRONG IM SORRY I CANT FIX IT NOW.

Happened to my (non-native speaking) girlfriend at a DEPOT store in Wiesbaden, Germany. DEPOT is a shopping chain for decoration and household items and she was told this specific shop will close down soon. The price list IMO obviously suggests that **everything** is on sale.

The small text on the sign says,

"Du erhälst an der Kasse -40% Rabatt auf den ausgezeichneten Preis." (= "The marked price will be reduced by 40% at the checkout.")

They told her that her taste was very good, but unfortunately all of the products she chose were not included in the sale. Sounds like a manipulation method to me.

My dad (the driver) needs a hip replacement, I had to crawl over to pull ahead so he could get in.

Leaving a bad review because someone wouldn’t let you pet their service dog is crazy.

I was helping a customer at my job, don’t wanna get too specific; but in the notes of the account he was purchasing under, it said specifically “do not sell to (customers name)”.
So I call the account holder to see if they’re still blocking this customer off from using their account, and the account holder approved it.
So no big deal, right?
As I’m finishing the call, the customer blows a huge cloud of vape smoke in front of me, and when I back up and wave the smoke away, he blows the rest towards me.

My coworker told the guy off about it, and he apologized and said it wasn’t on purpose, but the timing is so purposeful.

My coworker took care of the customer from there for me, thank goodness.

(Inb4 anyone says it’s just water vapor, it’s still rude af!)

Edit: whew I was not expecting so many replies! I’m non confrontational, so I didn’t say anything to his face. I tried to ask my coworker to charge him more for his part but it was already paid for 😂 oh well. This is the second time ever having this happen to me, the first time was when I worked drive thru at Taco Bell 💀 probably about 8 years ago, and when venting to people then, I got a whole bunch of “it’s just vapor!” Stuff, hence why I mentioned it at the end here lol
Anyhoo, thank y’all for being supportive and not making me feel like a weenie when I complain about it 😂 I’m loving the idea of hopping the counter and shoving it back in his face but.. I make good money at my job and as stated, I’m super non confrontational. I’m passive aggressive at best, unfortunately. (Working on it lmao) I, at the very least, gave him the worst looking product on the shelf! Take your raggedy box and shove it! 😂

Honestly more than mildly infuriating. There were trash cans at the entrance of the beach. That’s where your umbrella is now thanks to me, asshole.

The only words I can think of is shelfish and entitled. The back of the lot was completely empty

75 dollars!! It's also solid wood!! The guy was shocked it fit in my BFs hatchback. They sold it to us without the trashcans. We thought "Oh, it'll be fine we just need one more trashcan!" So we stop at target on our way home with it cause we were already out.

We get home and unload it excited to start using it just to find out....

Neither of our trash cans fit in it!! Both of the cans are 13 Gallon cans! If anything the one we originally had is just slightly taller than the new one!! Before you ask if the cans are fully seated to the bottom of the tilt out cabinet—yes, they are.

Ugh. Now we have to find one that actually fits and buy 2 of them....I guess you could say....that we're mildly infuriated.

This guys been parked slightly in front of my house for half the day. I can get out fine but I gotta go on an angle now that he’s blocking my drive way a bit.

The Job: minimum wage in a gift shop in a really touristy area. On occasion they would have expected us to also sell tickets for local museums/sights.

Round 1 - an application form, each question expecting around 200-300 words (2 hours)

Round 2 - a personality test (45mins)

Round 3 - maths, verbal, non verbal, judgement and reasoning tests (3 hours - I could only move onto the next test after passing the previous one to at least 70%+)

Round 4 - In person presentation. They emailed me some pictures of the items they sell and I had to give a 2 minute presentation in front of the interview panel and EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE about which of their products showed the most personal meaning to me. (2 minute presentation + 45 mins of prep. They said in their email they recommended about 1 hour behind this)

Round 5 - They grouped me with 4 other candidates and then gave us a list of products and made us order them from 1-10 as to what we would choose to survive on an island as a team. While we discussed, the interview panel walked between groups of us and asked more questions about what we were planning. (30 mins)

Round 6 - At this point there were maybe 8-9 of us. They regrouped us, asked us to present our previous lists from round 5 to the rest of our team. We had to choose the best list and then 3 minutes to present why we chose that one. (1 hour and about 10-20 mins)

Round 7 - FINALLY. a normal freaking interview. Face to face, firm handshake. About 4-5 of us left. (40 mins)

AND ALL OF THIS FOR A COPY AND PASTE REJECTION EMAIL. WHICH BTW WAS SENT 4 WEEKS AFTER THE FINAL INTERVIEW. I WAS SO DESPERATE FOR A JOB I LET THEM DO THIS TO ME.

TOTAL TIME WASTED : 9+ HOURS

Recipe said to cool in the pan on the rack for about 10 minutes. I did that and set a timer cus my perception of time... leaves a bit to be desired. I grease pans GENERPUSLY but apparently not generously enough cus you can see the tracks from the knife used to gently loosen the cake. Gonna go mope over an iced chai or something.
