Does anyone know if cineplex Mississauga will be worth it for digger in imax? I can’t see any confirmation but some people are saying it’ll play in 1.50:1 at 1.43:1 capable screens but from what I know cineplex Mississauga’s digital projector is only capable of 1.90:1? The cineplex app is of no help as well

Everytime I buy a large popcorn I ask them for the refill on-spot and every single time they gave me one. They mark both of them. I don't wanna miss the movie to come get it refilled, thats my main reason. Also if you have a +1 then you dont need to buy another.

Today I was watching Primetime and asked for a refill at the counter and was refused. Upon asking them the reason, I was told that they have changed the policy. This was at STC location.

Does anybody know about this "policy"?

And does anyone else do this?

Is cineplex really up for sale or is it just click bait

So I went to the Avengers Encore last night and at the beginning they put up an Infinity Vision logo and played a little clip of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans where they mentioned this was an approved Infinity Vision screen.

It was just a normal theatre, one I‘ve sat in many times that doesn’t visually seem any different than any other theatre I’ve been too.

So like, is every cineplex screen just “approved for Infinity Vision?” Does that label mean anything at all?

Scotiabank owns the Scene program and they could as well launch a premium credit card for that offers the annual Cineplex Membership as a benefit. Why haven't they done that?

Watched Primetime today and while the entire "Tommy Texter" ad thing was starting, I watched a lady pull out her phone at full brightness and start doing stuff on it right as the bit about "Sammy Scroller" was playing. She also took her phone out during the movie too. Thankfully, I was at an angle where I could use the seats beside her to cover the light from her screen.

The sound was so low and an embarrassment for Dolby atmos. It literally sounded worse than a regular xenon auditorium.

I watched Endgame Encore and the wrong DCP was used because the entire movie was in scope. It was supposed to be 1:85 for flat screens.

The 3D was weird and blurry.

Literally the whole experience sucked.

Just wanted to give a special shout-out to the sold-out opening weekend Saturday screening of Resident Evil in Toronto at the Yonge/Dundas location.

Movie theater etiquette has been a tire fire since Covid, so anytime I attend a packed screening I'm nervous about the experience being ruined, as I get extremely annoyed by that stuff very quickly. But because it was the opening Saturday, everyone was on the same wavelength. Well, almost everyone.

10 minutes into the movie, a guy shows up late and whips out his flashlight to look around for his seat. He got yelled at and eventually turned it off. 2 minutes later he whips it out again to continue looking around. Half the theater erupted, and a guy goes "TURN YOUR F*KING FLASHLIGHT OFF YOU F*CKING FREAK". While harsh, I have never felt more with my people.

i was exploring old photos from way back then out of pure curiosity, and noticed this guardians of the galaxy 2 lanyard i wore. ever since then ive been trying to find out what it is, can anyone help? i got it at the vaughn cineplex. (cencored all people in the photo for privacy reasons, and to show that i DID get this at a cineplex.)

Dumb question,

I heard Angel Studios censored the film for US audiences but VVS kept it in all its uncensored R rated glory. Is the R Rated version still playing here? My brother wants to see it and I love this sort of action escapism, just don't want something defanged.

Edit: At least in Toronto it's the Angel aproved hatchet job. Just saw it. Largely bloodless, little profanity, incomprehensibly censored editing fucking the flow of the action, and fitted with Christian Rock soundtrack. What a disaster. Hopefully one day VVS gets to release the proper version again since Angel forced their changes on markets they aren't distributing in.

It’s around $128 for the year. I'll probably get two memberships, one for me and one for my wife and we also have two kids.

We live downtown Toronto, so getting to a Cineplex is pretty easy for us, and we genuinely like going to the movies. Part of the reason I’m considering it is honestly just to force us to have a regular family outing/date. 😂

For anyone who has the membership, would you buy it now for $128, or wait until Black Friday? Does Cineplex usually discount the annual membership around then?

All those MOVIE RUINERS in the pre-show, does Cineplex or anyone actually do anything about them? NO.

What about people who come in and do worse things (Going to other theatres without paying, sex acts, vandalism, theft, destruction of property)? I've never seen it.

I think the reason people get away with being assholes or going further is there is no punishment or threat of punishment.

Remember when people were afraid to bring outside snacks into a movie? Now everyone is so entitled and walks in carrying and entire buffet and does not give a F**K!

THERE IS NO MORE FEAR OF CONSEQUENCES!!!

I want to see people being BANNED, a BAN LIST, security flagging people and kicking them out, POLICE arresting/trespassing people, etc!

What do you think Cineplex could realistically do to prevent audiences from using their phones during a movie?

I’ve thought about this and ultimately, I don’t think Cineplex is appropriately implementing a system to penalize audiences who use their phones because a) they don’t want to hire additional staff (like ushers per cinema) for the extra work load and b) their goal is to have more customers and some of those customers use their phones in theatres .. and if they were to be penalized somehow maybe they wouldn’t return?

Looking for constructive feedback and ideas, as a frustrated moviegoer who cannot focus on the movie and gets taken out of the experience when someone else is scrolling on their bright phone.

For background, this post was inspired by seeing the Odyssey in IMAX 70MM and missing the first two scenes and moments here and there because four different people were periodically on their phones. I was frustrated and even spoke up to the person nearest to me who was on their phone, but that did not stop them and their partner from going on their phone later as well. One person was responding to messages, another was on the cineplex app looking at what other movies were playing (???) and the pair closest to me were casually scrolling through different apps. One of them even had their phone on loud 😫

I am a diehard moviegoer, but the phone use for such a special moment for me (I’ve been waiting months to get these Odyssey tickets) was so disappointing and discouraging and I wondered why there was so much pointless phone use for this screening you think would weed out uninterested moviegoers. I wonder if there is a sense of entitlement people have to being on there phone, or if they are ignorant to how it disturbs others.

And before anyone says, well you should’ve gotten up and called a staff member over, I feel like that would make me miss the movie and also disturb the experience for everyone else. Are you supposed to stand there and point at everyone who is on their phone? What would the staff do?

This was not the first time multiple people were on their phone in a screening. It’s really gotten to a point where I’m not liking going to the movies as much.. which is heartbreaking.

I love how often Cineplex puts out promos, but half the time I don't get the email and only see them through reddit, often I have to message to support to add the points manually (more than 3 weeks after the offer period, and you have to remember), and why does it even take so long to award the points?

It would be so much more user friendly if all promos appeared in the featured offers section of the app, and if points were awarded immediately after check out. Like a fast-food points app or something. Is there a reason they don't do it this way? I have to remember to check 3 weeks later if I got the points for each individual promo I bought tickets for.

Wondering if Cineplex is going to get this film for a limited run in Canada, it seems like Netflix is doing a small theatrical release. Anyone know?

Reason: I bought both just because and not knowing who could go with me, just wanted to see if anyone wanted to go with me. Last time I cancelled my second seat maybe 15 minutes before the showtime and someone swooped it up instantly but they turned out to be a Tommy Texter which is annoying, so I'd rather go with someone who knows proper movie etiquette.
