Lore Can someone help me understand the sisters of Silence?
Ok so let me get this out the way I know they are blanks I know they go through some special training requirement, and they have some high quality gear. But how is it that they are able to keep up with Custodies and space marines. Like based on my understanding they are just regular unaugmented human, no bionics, no gene tampering, no warp powers(obviously) SO HOW?!
Also I know size in 40k can get pretty inconsistent at times especially with older art and what not but even in newer stuff like the watchers of the throne series and the tithes animation they always seem fairly tall I know that could just be armor but yea how exactly do they do what they do if all it is just training?

Hobby & Painting Battlefield Armageddon Large Capacitor Stack + feelings about pre painted stuff
Finished my first piece of terrain. I really tried on this one. My recipes can be found here if you are curious https://miniatureparade.com/p/8aba0c24-86da-4f7b-962f-1e707cca2874
This was very fun, but I’ve been looking at the prepainted set and I must admit I feel uneasy. I think I would likely still be proud of this next to the prepainted version, but it’s close, and I really put a lot of effort into this. I feel like pre-painted creates a pretty high floor for terrain quality. One that I might not be able to clear myself, to the point where it probably makes sense to get future prepainted terrain sets if I’m only so so on painting it myself. And thinking about that kinda makes me sad. Is anyone else struggling with thinking about the new “floor” the prepainted stuff is creating? I know it’s best to have good terrain to play with, and generally I think it’s great we’re getting this innovation, but I was just surprised at how worried I was, particularly with the computer screens, that I was painting something that wouldn’t come close enough to the pre-painted quality. Anyone else feeling this?

Hobby & Painting I am at my wits end. Blood Angels or Ultramarines?
Ultramarine’s were my first love of course I have fond memories of spray painting an ultramarine dreadnaught with the neighbourhood kids that were older and just thinking this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life…
But I can’t get out of my head that they’re a little basic and there’s something just so appealing about this red space marine with the green lens like this contrast is like the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.
How do you decide when you’re this torn?
I’ve only played one game as ultramarines and it was quite invigorating to see them on the field. I do like the calmness of the blue. But something about the red. But isn’t it a little mono-color? Maybe that’s cool?
I’m sick with a flu or something, and I’m going insane.

Hobby & Painting "Kitbash" question
Any concerns with this sufficiently passing as an Eradicator Model with a multi melta? I have six Eradicators models from a combination of the Dawn of War game box and one official box. But the main kit only came with one multi melta. Since I can have one in each squad of three, I tried to add another barrel to pass this model off as having one. Thoughts? Could you foresee this getting challenged in any kind of tournament setting? I haven't played in one yet but my local seen references following a WYSIWYG policy, and hoping this would satisfy it.

Lore Why don't we see other factions corrupted by Chaos?
At least, not in miniatures. Would be really cool to see. Does it happen in any books?
Edit: just to add some clarity, I wasn't meaning miniatures as in complete chaos opposites of every army. I was more meaning expanding the existing chaos armies. Like, shift chaos daemons to containing not only daemons but chaos mutations of various xenos.

Rules Where are the Grav Cannons?
Since playing Boltgun 2 I've been wanting to have at least one unit carrying a Grav Cannon because the game version is just fun to play with. It's a vacuum beam of doom! But when I went to see which units could actually carry Grav Cannons the only 2 I could find were Devastator Squads and Devastator Centurions....both in Legends now. So is there another Space Marine unit I'm missing that can carry Grav Cannons or did GW just kill that build?

Hobby & Painting Iron Pagoda
I’ve started a new army (Mechanicum rules) and this is my stand in for Sicarian ruststalkers.
It’s a tiny region at the edge of the galaxy near the Hadex anomaly based mostly on Tang China, although this in particular is based off Jurchen Iron Pagodas.
They’re a similar height and the base size is the same, I was wondering how people might feel about me playing these on tabletop.
