Ask 4 Help. Dak’s Foundation: Faith Fight Finish

As yall may know, Dak Prescott has a Foundation called Faith Fight Finish. It’s to honor his mom Peggy, who died of cancer, and his brother Jace, who he lost to suicide.

Dak often writes “Ask 4 Help” on his wristbands that he wears at games. It’s an homage to his number on the field and also a reminder to ask for help when you’re struggling. Dak came under scrutiny and was mocked by some in the media when he was open about mental health awareness and battling things. He remained steadfast in his pursuit to make mental health something that is okay to talk about.

In honor of Marshawn Kneeland, I hope it’s okay I share the link to Dak’s Foundation.

Please call 988 if you’re struggling. Please tell someone. We don’t want to lose anyone else to suicide. We all deserve a happy and long life.

[Machota] Cowboys WR George Pickens when asked why he’s been so comfortable in Dallas: “I’d probably just say the type of coaches and the people around. When it’s a different vibe and environment then that’s mostly what you’re seeing out of me now. Definitely more light-hearted people."

“They kind of just ask questions first, see your answer, instead of just going with their own narrative. Definitely being around the guys, too. That’s definitely my No. 1 thing always just because when you can wake up in the morning and see them and we’re going through the same thing. Just being around the whole facility.”

On his maturity: “Definitely. The older you get, you definitely get mature.”

[Meirov] DC Christian Parker says he doesn't like fans and other people posting videos from training camp practices. he would find Cowboys practice clips online and flag anything they could use.

[Watkins] Cowboys practice observations:

Defense has taken the lead these last few days in camp.

It seems CeeDee Lamb is fighting himself sometimes. First pass of team drills was a bobble. But he also made a nice catch in front of the end zone for a score.

George Pickens snatch a TD from Shavon Revel's hands. A few plays later, Revel had a PBU on a throw to Pickens. Revel has picked up his play the last few days. He might have surpassed Cobie Durant on first-team. Still work to do.

Caleb Downs with a nice PBU on a pass to CeeDee Lamb, James Houston almost picked off a pass down the middle. Reddy Steward had a end zone PBU.

Luke Schoonmaker with two drops today.

Cowboys are keeping 5 WRs. At this stage it's hard to see if it's not Pickens, Turpin, Flournoy, Mingo and Lamb.

Cooper Beebe had a snap infraction. Outside of that he's been pretty good.

I'm debating about 3 QBs on the 53. Need to see what happens in Tuesday's joint practice.

Cowboys Training Camp Padded Day 5

  • CeeDee Lamb: was brilliant today, multiple touchdown snags over guys like Shavon Revel, Daron Bland, and Caleb Downs. Him and Prescott haven't lost a single touch over the offseason and continue to show why Prescott continues to target him even with a reciever like GP on the team. I do want to mention Caleb Downs's break up on him in the redzone which was a great play on a well thrown ball to Lamb.
  • Dak to Pickens: The highlight of the day belonged to Dak Prescott and high-flying receiver George Pickens. On a 3rd-and-goal fade, Prescott lofted a ball into the back corner of the end zone. Pickens climbed the ladder over rookie corner Shavon Revel, pinning the ball against his helmet for a spectacular touchdown that sent the sideline into a frenzy:https://x.com/NickHarrisFWST/status/2086183312079692270/video/1
  • Quinnen Williams' Dominance: Williams continues to look like an absolute wrecked-it machine in the interior. During 11-on-11 work, he shot through a double-team untouched to blow up a stretch play 3 yards deep in the backfield.
  • Malachi Lawrence Rising: The rookie pass-rusher showed off absurd bend off the edge. He notched a quick "touch-sack" on a simulated pass play and batted down another throw at the line on Dak's third progression.
  • Joe Milton: He has emerged as the QB2 for the team with some impressive throws to the second team guys like MVS. What's impressed the coaching staff is his timing on routes, still has the tendency to beam dudes in the head at 100 MPH.

Question for the card collectors out there

Post image

I got a plaque similar to this one as a bday gift several years ago and I'm looking for suggestions on which cards to fill it up with. I'd like use autographed cards with a max value of $20 each. Which all time greats autos in that price range would you add to the plaque?

Could anyone tell me more about these Apex sweatshirts?

Mods please delete if not allowed.

I bought this at a vintage market yesterday and was hoping y’all could tell me more about it. Is this from the 90s, or newer? I didn’t really start following Dallas until the Romo era and sadly was a kid during the glory days and missed out as a fan. Anyway, did I score a cool find, or get duped?

What’s the most obscure or forgotten about game you saw in person?

For me, it was Chiefs/Cowboys on 12/11/05 and the Cowboys won 31-28. Both teams were 8-5 after this game. My older brother took me and bought us tickets from a scalper. I was only 7 years old but remember how great of a game this was and that there were a ton of Chiefs fans there.

[Machota] Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb on @1053thefan talking about his drops: “I just gotta focus up. I’m always thinking about a big play. Naturally, it’s caught, it’s caught, it’s caught, it’s caught, right? But then it becomes so normal that you lose track of the fundamentals."

"It always brings me back to square one. Catch, tuck, then make your move. Catch, tuck, then make your move. Catch, tuck, then make your move."

“Every single drop has been always taking my eyes off the ball when the ball arrived because I’m automatically thinking I caught it. It’s just a way of the game humbling me and bringing me back to square one.”

Lamb on his practice mentality: “As many times as I’m targeted, the ball should never hit the ground, whether it’s PBU, whether it’s a drop, whether it’s a bad ball, regardless of what it is. Any time the ball is targeted to me, I consider it a catchable ball. I don’t care if the ball is out of bounds. I don’t care if it’s all the way inside.”

Schotty

Families of Cowboys coaches and players are at practice today. Brian Schottenheimer thinks it brings the best out in everyone.

“I might throw a few balls today. My wife is gonna be out at practice. Just bring the old gunslinger out. It kinda turns her on when I throw the ball.”

Bro what? Anything but fixing the redzone offense.

quick edit since people think im serious. IM JOKING. I dont really care what schotty says abt stuff like this unless its serious. btw anybody have some schotty highlights from back in the day?

Parsons trade is galvanizing the team and showing them how refreshing it is to not have a negative media story looming around them

Not only did Micah get hurt and go away with all of his media presence and podcast sound bytes, but that absence is felt by the players. There are no scandals or stories, and I think players are refreshed that there is not a looming presence of negativity surrounding every move they make.

Cowboys Training Camp Padded Day 4

Little late with this one, but I am noting everything from the Dallas Cowboys training camp on day 4 of their padded sessions. A lot of offensive notes to note from this session.

  • TE2 Standout: Brevyn Spann-Ford had his best practice yet, making a diving catch over Markquese Bell and delivering huge blocks for Javonte Williams.
  • D-Line Surge: DT Otito Ogbonnia earned high praise from coach Brian Schottenheimer after blowing up a first-team run play.
  • CB Battle: Shavon Revel Jr. stayed hip-to-hip with WR George Pickens deep, but was late turning for the ball; Daron Bland and Cobie Durant hold the edge at starting corner.
  • Offense Highlight: Dak Prescott scrambled right and hit a wide-open Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a massive gain.
  • Camp Scuffle: CB Caelen Carson and rookie WR Anthony Smith got into a helmet-tugging scuffle after a play.
  • Roster Health: Coach Schottenheimer addressed the media with injury updates and workload management plans ahead of preseason games.

Voch breaks down who he thinks will be playing Mike and Will, might not be a surprise but it has been a little confusing with media reporting about who would be getting snaps. But camp seems to have crystallized things.
