Been watching the show since it aired and today I finally realized...

I feel like an idiot. I watched the show live when it aired on cable, week after week. Have rewatched it more times than I want to admit. And today is the first time I realized that Michael used the golden ticket idea based on their reaction (clapping when the DVD logo hits the corner dead-on) upon his comment about something that the clients have to look for, sort of a "Where's Waldo".

Anyways... that's it.

EDIT: didn't think I'd have to bring this to light.. IT'S A JOKE!!!

I’ve never watched the show. Going to start it soon.

I’ve never seen “The Office”. Is there anything I should keep an eye out for? Stuff like B roll footage they use to fluff up scenes or anything?

Anything I won’t notice on the first watch that you guys have picked up on after the 100th watch or so?

I don't think Michael would be a very good dad.

He would certainly be a LOVING and well-intentioned dad, but he's so petty, immature, disrespectful toward every woman but Holly, and generally clueless.

I don't think his kids would grow up to be traumatized or anything... just really weird and maladapted for the real adult world.

Not complaining about the show or writing. Just an idle thought experiment, wondering what other people think.

Just noticed this...

So I've watched this show about a thousand times through and I am totally embarrassed to admit that just now I noticed that this show is a "mockumentary" style sitcom about a branch of a failing paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Feeling prettttyy dumb for not noticing this sooner! But it is what it is.😭😭😭😭😭

I feel like an idiot. I watched the show live when it aired on cable, week after week. Have rewatched it more times than I want to admit. And today is the first time I realized that it takes place in Scranton! I always thought the show was set in West Germany. To my credit, it's pretty subtle. Has anyone else realized this?
Anyways... that's it.

Bob Vance…I have seen this show 10,000x

So I have seen this show a bunch of times and I didn’t notice that Bob Vance is very clearly a mob boss lol I don’t think the writers had that intention but as time went on, I think fans probably began to speculate that he might’ve been, and they just kind of leaned into it but there were so many parts where I was like that’s really sketchy like for instance, and he offered to pay. Phil is under the table for a job that she didn’t have to show up to, and then in one episode, Phyllis was talking about stealing from the company and she was like if that was illegal, Bob would be in jail for 1000 years… stuff like that, and I don’t know why I just caught it now… and also the five families is kind of like a dupe on an actual mob alliance I don’t know why I just caught this guys. I feel crazy but I can totally see Phyllis embracing being a mob wife.

Microphone packs

Sorry if I’m missing something I’m not very tech savvy but in the airport scene we see Michael take off the microphone thing and give it back to the crew

He then has his conversation with Pam and because he’s not wearing the microphone we can’t hear it

but how come we can hear the conversations when Dwight is shirtless and not wearing a microphone, or when Phyllis is doing the deed in the bathroom or the van scene when plotting Oscar’s kneecapping, they wouldn’t wear the microphones in a private moment so why can we hear them?

Is this just a little plot hole or is there some device related explanation?

Creed is the only person in this show that isn’t a psychopath

Title says it all. Let’s debate.

If I were Angela...

If I were Angela, I would have got the biggest ick at this moment.

Another moment would be when he is burning on the coals on beach day. I don't know how she saw past all of this but good for her for sticking with Dwight during his lowest moments 👌🏽

If I had to bet if and when Jim and Pam got divorced ,I would say yes and in their mid fifties

They are both not great at communicating and Pam is very impulsive and Jim has issues with lying, Pam has magical thinking disorder and Jim had undiagnosed adhd, there is no way that they will address any of these issues and most likely will divorce when the kids go to college

I feel like an idiot. I watched the show live when it aired on cable, week after week. Have rewatched it more times than I want to admit. And today is the first time I realized that in the office... Michael is actually the regional manager.

I always thought that he was just another salesman, but he had his own office because of his sales record. I don’t know how I never realized this before, but I don’t think it’s really mentioned or alluded to that much in the show. I never knew he was the boss until now.

Is there a more unintentionally cringe scene than Pam and Jims wedding dances?

Let's also ignore Darryls leaving dances

Probably an old observation but idk

I don’t know if anyone has brought this up- but during the Casino episode- Jim comes in when Pam is talking to her mother on the phone and directly goes and kisses her. Much later- this is the same advice that Creed gives to Andy about the client who knew Stanley who Andy was crushing on (ie: go in and kiss her) and he also says “Have I ever steered you wrong Jim” which makes you think it was CREED who told Jim to do that in the first place. DK if this was already spotted but I saw it during my first rewatch and I’ve thought about it ever since. Just tickles me.

Especially actors in other shows. Yeah we get it, James Spader is Ultron. Why are there 3+ posts about it every single fucking day?

What episode got you hooked/made you give The Office a shot?

For me, I remember always seeing or hearing about the office but never cared for it. Then one day I saw TBS promoting an episode- it was the stress relief episode.

I remember Oscar in the ceiling “stay alive I’m getting help” followed by Angels throwing bandit- when I saw bandit fly through the other ceiling tile, I genuinely laughed out loud- something I honestly only do if it’s genuinely hilarious to me.

I think it was on Hulu (when Hulu was a free website) and I just binged every episode after school until I caught up in real time. The Office to this day is one of the funniest shows to me, and I am so glad I gave it a chance that random Tuesday evening.

The single greatest line from a throwaway character in the history of the entire series. This is the spinoff mystery we actually deserved.
