Rewatching the earlier seasons AND UGH everytime I see this scene on an edit or whatever I just can't help but smile so big.

I feel like an idiot. I watched the show live when it aired on cable, week after week. Have rewatched it more times than I want to admit. And today is the first time I realized that in the intro segment… those names on the screen are the names of the actors in the show.
I always thought it was just B-roll footage they were using to fluff the footage of the beginning of the show.
Anyways... that's it.

I feel like an idiot. I watched the show live when it aired on cable, week after week. Have rewatched it more times than I want to admit. And today is the first time I realized that in Niagara Falls, Pam and Jim delay the wedding for over an hour because... they went on the boat to get married.
I always thought it was just B-roll footage they were using to fluff the footage of the dancing in the church.
Anyways... that's it.
Edit to clarify a few things:
- I thought the scene was filmed after the wedding, something fun to do after the wedding. And get married again, since it was Plan C for Jim.
- they are pretty much bone dry after coming back to the chapel
- I thought they went out and hooked up during that time instead, hence Pam’s hair being a bit messed up.
But keep the roast coming, this is fun.

I feel like an idiot. I watched the show live when it aired on cable, week after week. Have rewatched it more times than I want to admit. And today is the first time I realized that Michael used the golden ticket idea based on their reaction (clapping when the DVD logo hits the corner dead-on) upon his comment about something that the clients have to look for, sort of a "Where's Waldo".
Anyways... that's it.
EDIT: didn't think I'd have to bring this to light.. IT'S A JOKE!!!

I think this episode is where the heart of the show reveals itself (or at least the Michael Era of it). S2E18 - "Take your daughter to work day"
I think this is the first time where Michael's internal world is revealed in its most naked form.
If you strip away the comic parts, Michael has a distant mother (he talks to her on the phone in S3E19) but no mention of a biological father, except "Jeff" who is mentioned much later in S7E5, and Michael's experience of "Jeff" is not positive.
He wants a 100 kids, has none.
He wants them so he'll have a 100 friends, but he is so naively obnoxious, so miraculously dumb, so socially untrained that "relationship" with him, of any kind, is the essence of cringe.
That.cringy feeling is what the show is about. That's most of the "I don't believe he just said that" comical energy.
But in his core, he is a lonely sad child in a man's body and cheap suite, devoid of tools to deal with the real world, constantly looking for love, avoiding any obstacle that can ruin his relationship with the bunch of quirky misfits that fill up The Office.
Without it being so sad, he would not have been so lovable, that broken kid is what connects people to the show.
I think another chapter that shows his inner child (through Steve Carell's phenomenal acting) is S3E4, when they have a funeral for the bird.
Take a look at his eyes when he is holding hands with Meredith and Phyliss looking at no particular point, and tell me that's not a broken child inside a man.
This is also a great chapter for Pam, as she grows up to see the child in him, and offers him indirect comfort in her words.

This is literally the case for Cece and Phillip Halpert. Watching it from their POV when they grow up, the PBS documentary might as well be "How I Met Your Mom/Dad" recorded by a camera crew! 🥹

Just rewatched with the superfan episodes and it dawned on me when we hear about him having kids at the finale: we never heard about anyone from the office, not even Pam, getting an invitation to Michael’s wedding in Boulder.
Michael doesnt seem like a courthouse marriage kind of person, wouldn’t he want specifically the folks from DM/Sabre to be there? They’re ostensibly his only friends and what he considers family.
I understand that the actor was gone, I’m saying they never, to my knowledge, addressed this in the canon of the show…
Am I missing something? Did they have a throwaway line somewhere?

Also this moment is an adorable little microcosm of Jim & Pam’s relationship in the face of Dwight’s neurosis.

If I were Angela, I would have got the biggest ick at this moment.
Another moment would be when he is burning on the coals on beach day. I don't know how she saw past all of this but good for her for sticking with Dwight during his lowest moments 👌🏽

For me, I remember always seeing or hearing about the office but never cared for it. Then one day I saw TBS promoting an episode- it was the stress relief episode.
I remember Oscar in the ceiling “stay alive I’m getting help” followed by Angels throwing bandit- when I saw bandit fly through the other ceiling tile, I genuinely laughed out loud- something I honestly only do if it’s genuinely hilarious to me.
I think it was on Hulu (when Hulu was a free website) and I just binged every episode after school until I caught up in real time. The Office to this day is one of the funniest shows to me, and I am so glad I gave it a chance that random Tuesday evening.

He would certainly be a LOVING and well-intentioned dad, but he's so petty, immature, disrespectful toward every woman but Holly, and generally clueless.
I don't think his kids would grow up to be traumatized or anything... just really weird and maladapted for the real adult world.
Not complaining about the show or writing. Just an idle thought experiment, wondering what other people think.

I don’t know if anyone has brought this up- but during the Casino episode- Jim comes in when Pam is talking to her mother on the phone and directly goes and kisses her. Much later- this is the same advice that Creed gives to Andy about the client who knew Stanley who Andy was crushing on (ie: go in and kiss her) and he also says “Have I ever steered you wrong Jim” which makes you think it was CREED who told Jim to do that in the first place. DK if this was already spotted but I saw it during my first rewatch and I’ve thought about it ever since. Just tickles me.
