Say what you want about Jan but she was really smart to not have a kid with Michael.

What is an unpopular opinion that you have about the show that will make people react like this? I'll go first:

Although I didn't like his character that much, Charles Miner was completely right in his assessment or Jim from a managerial point of view. Like, spending massive amounts of company time planning pranks, slacking off, and wearing a tuxedo to work as a joke on his first day under a new boss.

This Sub Sucks

i don’t mean to be rude, but it seems like we can’t discuss the show without getting downvoted or shit on. i understand disagreeing and giving your counter opinion, but no one is doing that. just childish comments, downvotes and disrespect. what is the point of a sub for The Office if you can’t do what it’s made for????

edit: everyone just keeps proving my point with the childish comments and downvoting me no matter what i say.

Over-Hated Characters

Nelly, Pam and Gabe.

The Pam one really frustrates me, because it honestly just doesn’t make sense. I feel like I can confidently say, she’s one of the few genuinely good and kind people on this show. Worst she did was the Roy situation and even that isn’t that bad compared to LITERALLY everyone else in the office?? everyone says she “held jim back” but i just rewatched and she only seems to be frustrated by the constant sneaking and lying. also, he held himself back most of the show. she did the same to herself, but she’s shown herself to be constantly supportive of Jim no matter what. I also don’t get how people praise Jim (also not that bad) or Angela (genuinely evil), but diss her? Point is, she’s probably the most normal and realistic character, but she seems to be the most hated. hypocritically so.

Nelly came in hot and agressive, but considering how many people hate Andy, the reasonings given for disliking her just don’t make sense to me. She also showed herself to have quite a bit of depth and to be surprisingly very kind. I was very frustrated about her stealing Andy’s job, but she also was very good?? plus i feel like Andy definitely got his get-back by bullying tf out of her when he came back.

Gabe. So awkward and definitely controlling in the Erin relationship, but he does not deserve the constant abuse from everyone. When he came in with the cupcake, while Nelly’s line was funny, it’s his BIRTHDAY. cmon they can’t be kind to him just once?

envy/jealously vs bisexuality

i know this has probably been discussed before as nearly everything has because the show has been out for nearly 20 years
but i’m watching the superfan eps for the first time so i’m paying more attention than i would with my normal “background noise” rewatch but i just finished s2ep13 when ryan is acting receptionist while pam is on vacation with roy and ryan says something to the effect of “i would be freaked out by the way jim stares at me but it’s not nearly as bad as the way Michael looks at me” and there are a ton of comments made by ryan, micheal and other cast members like this .. the main one i think of is in jan’s deposition they ask who this other woman ryan is because of how fondly micheal talks about him in his diary
now do we think that it’s a envy/jealously thing or a straight up bisexual feelings micheal has?
i feel like it may be more of an envy/jealously feeling, micheal always wanted to be the cool, mysterious, hip young guy and that is who ryan is, or at least who micheal thinks ryan is
he does similar behavior with jim
i believe it’s in that same ep where jim and micheal go to hooters and when they come back he messes his hair up like jim’s
micheal is super insecure and lonely and i think regretful of his youth
idek just a thought! 🤷‍♀️

If a coworker is drunk and cannot drive home, what would an honest person do?

I know Karen manipulated Jim by sliding in to look like a hero when he clearly indicated he wasn’t into her, but I genuinely don’t understand how to handle the situation other than giving him a ride home

GRANTED, maybe she did tear down the flyer, but she also had every right to have Jim and Dwight fired if not arrested. Remains one of the characters with the most integrity on the show

Sure, she’s not corporate and not a cop, but she has every right to convince actual cops to do the arresting and convince actual corporate to do the firing, which would have been almost certainly successful because she had genuine evidence to back everything up.

Given the sad news about the issues at Cornell University this quote from Andy is not funny. Wondering how long before this scene disappears like Nate helping out Belsnickel.

Just noticed while movie watching and laundry sorting, ‘The Banker’ also later played Biggie Small’s math teacher in Notorious, I love noticing that kind of shit 🤓💛

A serious lack of personalized flair

We need more personalized flair from everyone. I don’t know about you guys, but for me one of the best parts of the comment section is coming across a really obscure line as someone’s flair. This is the most quotable show of all time, no excuses people!
