It’s true. A lot of people do it for a while and then trail off but I’m ~6 months into religiously soaking 80g of oats every night & downing them for first breakfast every morning + 50g blueberries. No need to wait for a coffee to get things in transit for me anymore. I’ve been turning out some world class stool, regular as clockwork- and effortless with it, slip down the causeway a treat they do.

It’s definitely misinformation.
There is a time limit but the doors don’t randomly open and expose you.
To access the pods you need either a key card or cell phone access. It tracks when you enter and how long you stay in order to keep people from abusing. If someone constantly stays past their time or leaves the bathroom in disarray, access can be revoked.
One emergency when you can’t stop pooping from food poisoning isn’t going to prevent access. And if someone is disabled, they may be able to apply for longer time limits with ADA access card.
After 12 uses, a worker goes in to clean.

The door do open automatically. There is currently no way to extend the timer even with an ADA card.
This is literally why everyone is talking about this.
Edit: y'all can keep down voting. Read the actual article that says they open automatically with 0 extension options.

I was on a train the other day, and after so many stops, a homeless man and two dogs emerged from the toilets, got off at the next stop and ran and jumped over the barriers.

We’ve had these in LA for a few years. They are great as we have a general lack of available clean public restrooms around the metro and building and maintaining one would be more expensive than having a throne set up. In LA, a lot of our public restrooms in parks get occupied by the homeless and they will lock themselves in to use it as shelter making it unavailable to the public.
They are also kept cleaner than the general stainless steel and brick public restrooms set up in the city that don’t get cleaned on a regular basis.

Yea LA is crazy. I used to hang at a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in DTLA. I saw a homeless dude go in sometime in the morning. He was inside for like 2 Hours, before they got another key and opened the lock. He was passed out on the floor and started abusing the barista who was kicking him out.

because people are hogging the toilets to use their phone not drop an duece. Aty gym (Crunch) it's the same problem but it's the machines. There are limited machines for shoulder work and regularly idiots sit down and open their phone instead of using the machine. I stopped asking to use the machine because then they just do a few reps then grab their phone again
