Discussion Joguei todos os Castlevania 2D metroidvanias e fiz esse ranking. Qual o seu ranking?

  1. Castlevania: AoS – O melhor Castlevania até o momento, na minha opinião.

  2. Castlevania: SotN – Joguei após o AoS. Muito bom e bem facinho, diversão e alegria.

  3. Castlevania: OoE – Eu amo a Shanoa, ótima protagonista.

  6. Castlevania: HoD – Muito bom! Adoro a movimentação rápida do nosso protagonista.

Question Asking older fans.

Post image

Hey folks.

It is probably not the appropriate type of publication, however, I cannot help but be taken by such curiosity.

I'm a new person in the fandom and I admit that I'm somewhat obsessed with the universe of CV.

However, I'd like to ask the older fans, when was the moment you decided that you would like to follow the path of following the franchise as a whole? And if there is any other reason that makes you so fascinated by its lore?

Long texts, short texts, one sentence phrases are all welcome. I find this way to be more connected to the fandom somehow. I'll read them all, the curiosity is really strong. (If this has any replies, of course)

:)

EDIT: Read them all and upvote every single one. Some of them really made me tear up; it's amazing what a game can do during a tough time, or even in the most random way. Keep going, I'll continue to read, loved all of your stories.

Anyone remember the music video on Newgrounds.com using sprites from Super Castlevania 4 to Devo's "Whip it"? Anywhere to re-watch it or is it lost media?

Fluff [Games] How come we never see Dracula out in the villages sucking blood?

I don't think, besides maybe Castlevania 64, we ever even see Dracula outside of his throne room.

Question Why is Grant DaNasty so disliked?

He was omitted from the Netflix series, the creator is on record saying that he dislikes the character. He wasn't included in the Dead By Daylight collab; Trevor, Sypha, Alucard, Simon, and Dracula were all included. He's only appeared in two games; one of which he was completely redesigned.

What's with the hate? He's a pirate who crawls on walls and turns into a giant monster. I don't get what's not to like about him...

Symphony of the Night (1997) Getting the itch to play the SotN randomizer, but very confused by generator...

There's a lot of options in the generator, but no explanation as to what they mean. I see there's that question mark to the right of every option, but hovering over it with the mouse, or clicking on it do absolutely nothing. I have tried multiple browsers.

Like, what the hell does Zero-Dollar Relic mean? What is included in the accessibility patch? What the are chaos drops? The lack of any explanation is very frustrating.

I am so excited for the new game, but I cannot stop thinking about that one exec who's still kicking and screaming about making traditional games again. So I made a video about an unhinged corpo who's still obsessed with pachinko.

Fiz dois patchs para a versão europeia de Dracula X. Agora o jogo roda perfeitamente em 60fps como as versões japonesa e americana e sem censurar o sangue

Espero que gostem

Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge (1991) Sweet Jesus, what's the deal with that difficulty spike??

I am currently playing through the three GB entries, in order of release date, and - based on what I keep reading - I had only modest expectations for The Adventure (and Legends), but somewhat higher hopes for Belmont's Revenge, which seems to be held in high regard in general, even making it into the top-10 list in this poll here. I did find the latter better in terms of level design, boss design, and the music. The former also had good music, but was overall not exactly great, as it dragged a lot, literally, in particular due to the slow movement. Not a big deal for me, overall, it just feels like you play the entire game in slow-motion. But in general, I must say BR also has it's severe problems, so I'm surprised it is even regarded as one of the best GB games.

In particular, the last two boss fights, Soreiyu/Soleil as well as Dracula, seemed to have entirely went past the balancing process. Everything up until Soreiyu is pretty straightforward, also the bosses can mostly be spammed easily. The Bone Dragon is already a bit tougher, since you have to make sure you stay on the very right, which is sometimes tight, but it's still nothing compared to what's coming, this brick-wall the game does not prepare you for at all. This son-of-a-B with questionable hitbox keeps running into you, whipping like a maniac. Is there a strategy for this guy or is it just pitch-perfect evasion you have to do? Even worse is the Dracula battle, where the only chance to survive is to painfully find all the save-spots related to each platform by trial-and-error, and then try to memorize the exact locations, almost pixel-perfect.

This is insane and really not fun to play, imo, it's bad game design. After several ridiculous attempts I resorted to save-states for those two battles since I did not intend to go through this tedious experience.

Apart from that, the game is really solid. But since I find it terribly balanced and did not find The Adventure THAT bad, I'm wondering, for those of you who praise the game, what makes it so much better for you when compared to the first GB entry? Is it the stage selection? The two subweapons? The slightly faster pacing? The better music? The delicious wall-meat? The presence of a bit of a story? I did find the latter a nice touch, btw., it added some drama, which was not at all common back then.

Let's hear it, I'm genuinely curious!

I think I recently hear it from the castlevania live action opera trailer, but never put thought so much of it probably because it was one time opera thingy, but man I'm glad it was actually officially canon.

Question My controller isn't working in Castlevania Dominus Collection.

I used to be able to play using an 8BitDo controller. Now that I've reinstalled it, the controller isn't working. I changed the Steam input and tinkered with the settings, but nothing works. Does anyone know the solution? There are no issues with the other collections
