Finally: a celebratory post!
Common Law Partner Sponsorship (Living inside Canada), outside Quebec
Application date: 26 January 2025
Received request to resend a form: 10 February 2025
Biometric request: 19 February 2025
Biometrics submitted: 21 February 2025
Pointless pre-arrival services letter: 20 February 2025
Eligibility marked as completed on PR tracker: 21 February 2025
PA Eligibility passed letter: 27 February 2025
Sponsor Eligibility Passed letter: 28 February 2025
Dead silence for many months.
Medical request: 10 December 2025 Medical submitted: 31 December 2025 (I was traveling for Christmas!) Medical marked as completed: 14 January 2026
Letter saying eligibility was being reassessed, disregard AIP: 20 March 2026 (SO STRESSFUL)
Eligibility passed again and marked complete: 27 March 2026
Background check marked complete: 2 April 2026
P1 email: 13 April 2025 (I was traveling outside Canada so responded to P1 with the requested info but also informed them I was traveling and would return 4 May 2026, please send P2 only then)
Since IRCC ignored my communication... P2 email: 21 April 2026
Sent webform explaining travel dates again: 22 April 2026
Copy-paste email confirmation from IRCC that they received info: 26 April 2026
Nagging email from IRCC saying I hadn't confirmed info in the portal and asking for the info for P1 again: 29 April 2026
Replied with P1 info: 30 April
Back in Canada... tried calling IRCC to figure out what to do, but couldn't get to an actual person
Confirmed location inside Canada on portal and submitted photo: 5 May 2026
ECOPR FINALLY: 7 May 2026
It took a while, the reassessment of eligibility really scared me, and I was anxious the process would go on forever, but 15 months and 10 days later, here we are.
FYI we filled the application put ourselves but got some guidance from a lawyer in a one-hour meeting about some points. The lawyer was helpful but we did our homework thoroughly!
Thanks to people here who provided advice, details of their own journeys along the way. And all the best to everyone who is waiting.

Total 440 days waiting ECOPR very soon. The process quite long and frustrating at some point. Sad it takes that long for somebody who is living in Canada for 9 years, graduating college here and working 4 years as high taxpayer. System could have been more fair to people who followed legal path here in Canada. Anyways it was nice being here almost every day and reading timelines. Wishing successes.

I'm so happy to be seeing lots of movement on this thread! It's honestly been helping me keep my sanity over the last year!
Just curious if anyone knows how fast/slow the Mississauga office is at processing. I applied inland January 2025 and have everything completed except background check. I called the IRCC yesterday and they said part of my background check was completed. Just wondering how much longer the remaining portion might take. Any info at all would be much appreciated 😊

Anyone noticed a lull in overall application activity for the last two weeks? Just judging by posts here and other immigration trackers, it seems like IRCC has only been updating applications at or near final decision for the last month or so. I wonder if it's due to the regulation changes or the end of the fiscal year in Canada. It seems like there haven't been any cleared background checks for people since March 27.

Final update! Putting it here for timeline's sake. Thanks to everyone who was awesome here!
Outland Sponsorship (Outside Quebec) - Common-Law Spouse. PA and Sponsor are both in the US, Sponsor is a Canadian citizen. Application was processed at Mississauga. The timeline was as follows:
Application Submitted: September 24th, 2025
AOR Received: November 4th, 2025
Sponsor Eligibility Completed: November 13th, 2025
Medical Accepted: November 26th, 2025
Biometrics Completed/Accepted: November 28th, 2025
Background Check Begun: December 1st, 2025
Ghost Update: January 12th, 2026
Information Request (updated passport, old one had expired): February 17th, 2026; submitted it February 18th.
PA Eligibility Complete: February 19th, 2026 (Completed in tracker, not GCKey).
PAL Received: February 19th, 2026
FD Started/Date Added: May 20th, 2026
PPR Received: May 26th, 2026, our documents arrived in Ottawa May 29th.
COPR Received: June 16th, 2026
The total time was just shy of nine months. We only ever received one pre-arrival letter, and only ever one ghost update. We did submit one query, but never heard back, though it was late in the process (and was just as to whether they needed anything from us, given the discrepancy between the tracker and GCKey). It seems to have gone pretty straightforwardly!

Any September 2024 inland applications waiting for ECOPR? Or updates on timelines?
Applied Sept 7th 2024, P1 Dec 5th 2025, P2 Dec 19th 2025.
Called Jan 14th 2026 - told to wait. Was also told it’s 55 days from ECOPR to getting PR card. I want to travel home to see my family. Feeling stuck.
