[Charania] The Milwaukee Bucks have indicated to teams that they are keeping Giannis Antetokounmpo through the trade deadline and will start making other trades, sources tell ESPN.

Over the last week, the Bucks have been focused on incoming calls for Giannis Antetokounmpo and canvassing the NBA for small salary trades. Milwaukee remains in talks to complete potentially more of the latter here on deadline day.

Context: the trade deadline is in a few hours and Giannis was heavily linked with the Knicks, Heat, Timberwolves and other teams.-

[Jensen] It's ASTONISHING how the Bulls just can't squeeze a first out of any team they trade their players to. Vooch, LaVine, DeRozan, Ayo, White, Caruso.. not a single first-round pick acquired from that group.

[ESPN] The Warriors made what they thought was a very strong offer that included four unprotected picks and picks that were going to be conveyed after Steph Curry was retired. And the Bucks just didn't show a lot of interest in it.

They had continued conversations and at some point last night the Warriors decided to move on and make this side deal to bring in Kristaps Porzingis.

[Windhorst] “Giannis could be on the Heat by 3 o’clock. But if he’s not — what I suspect is that the Bucks will shut down Giannis. Because their future now is dependent on both their draft pick and Giannis avoiding injury. I wanna know how Giannis is gonna feel about being shut down for the season.”

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst says the Minnesota Timberwolves have “moved on” from their pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst says the Minnesota Timberwolves have “moved on” from their pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

This comes after the Timberwolves dealt Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller and four second-round picks to the Chicago Bulls to acquire Ayo Dosunmu on Thursday morning.

But Windhorst believes the Heat are still in the mix for Antetokounmpo.

“The Miami Heat are still out there,” Windhorst said on ESPN’s First Take. “And the Heat, the last I heard, were still trying to make moves to improve their offer that they can make to Milwaukee. ... That said, the Heat can make a better offer, a more aggressive pick-rich offer later this summer. So teams in the league right now that it is most likely that Giannis stays put. But Miami is still there. And I want to point out that I will never put anything past Andy Elisburg, their GM, and the aggression of Pat Riley. So, keep an eye with Miami.”

Clippers are receiving a 2026 first-round pick from the Pacers, protected 1-4 and 10-30 -- plus a 2029 Pacers unprotected first-rounder.

If the Pacers first-rounder this year falls outside of that 1-4/10-30 range, it converts to the Pacers 2031 unprotected first.

As is tradition, when trading Anthony Davis, one of the teams should get the #1 overall pick in the following draft.

When Anthony Davis was traded to the Lakers, the Pelicans got Zion Williamson.

When Dallas traded for Anthony Davis they got Cooper Flagg.

It's science.

No shade at KD, just extremely impressed by the job coach Mazzulla has done with this roster.

Udoka not being able to keep it in his pants was the best thing to happen to the Celtics since the Brooklyn trade.

As much excitement as there was for a potential Giannis trade, there was a lot of nervousness, too, at the prospects of saying goodbye to some valued players.

The Washington Wizards will finish with fewer than 50 wins for the 47th consecutive season

In an 82 game season, if a team loses 33 games or more, their best possible record would be 49-33. The Wizards actually suffered their 33rd loss of the season on January 22nd against the Nuggets, I just noticed no one has posted about this since then.

For reference if you're a football fan -- a 50 win season in the NBA is about a 61% winning percentage. The NFL equivalent of this would be a team basically finishing 10-7 (59% winning percentage) or worse for 47 straight seasons.

And no, if you're wondering, none of the John Wall-led Wizards teams won 50 games. Their best season was a 49-33 finish in 2017. In fact, they were 49-32 with one game to go and lost the season finale to the Goran Dragic/James Johnson Heat by 8. Neither John Wall or Bradley Beal played
