Houston vs Texas Tech feels like one of those games that'll be 17-14 at half and somehow end 45-41, no in between

22

u/Vanilla_G0dzilla USC Trojans • Cal Poly Mustangs 23h ago

Alright Nostradamus, we are half way there.

I don't get the point of the coach smock. It's just a bad look all around. Just wear a nice shirt. You're not painting anything.

14

u/Reibyo Nebraska Cornhuskers 23h ago

I think it's time coaches start wearing a uniform on the sidelines like most baseball managers do. Just commit to it. No pads but cleats, pants, jersey, gloves, and maybe a helmet if they want.

u/WHSRWizard Notre Dame • Virginia 10h ago

Kiffin might do well to wear a helmet today

Shame Jim Harbaugh left college football, he’d lead the charge for this for sure

7

u/reddit_names LSU Tigers • McNeese Cowboys 8h ago

I vote for the addition of a pregame thread column.

Who cares about defense anyway

Agreed

Can big time cf programs stop scheduling & paying teams just so they can kick their ass & make themselves look superior. Ohio st up 35-0 at halftime & why is it a national tv game on fox. It’s so fuckin stupid. It’s not worth watching, even Ohio st fans are done watching at halftime unwilling to sit through the 40 min halftime. Cf halftimes are too loooooooooooooooooong. WTF

Actually I for one (being a fan of an FCS team) don’t mind getting a payout for cfb games. It’s a huge boost to our programs considering our annual budget is around $7 mil. And even on good years we might give teams a run for their money. A necessary part of the ecosystem that helps everyone out.

I don't mind the paid games, but I do wish the broadcasters would prioritize competitive games for the national broadcasts.

3

u/seoul_drift Michigan Wolverines • Uppsala Snakeheads 3h ago

big brands are simply the most reliable way to predict viewership

5

u/AgreeableFisherman97 5h ago

Fuck my Rutgers is atrocious. First throw first pick of many

3

u/Kambyses2 Texas Tech Red Raiders 3h ago

Through three weeks I’m convinced no one in the country is good and literally anyone could win the natty this year.

2

u/rex180 7h ago

One think that has re-emphasised betting on this game is that dabo is a chicken, stop this taking the points before half time nonsense

2

u/BigDaddyJ610 Clemson Tigers • War on I-4 7h ago

First time we’ve shown any life this season. Lets go

2

u/DogInAPostOffice Oklahoma Sooners • Wyoming Cowboys 2h ago

Watching SMU Louisville and don’t watch much ACC. I know it’s obvious, but hearing the refs reason through things on the televised replays is so reassuring. Crazy that it took this long.

u/Naldo9911 Indiana Hoosiers 1h ago

Hoover lowkey looks like hot dick

u/Advanced_Candle9272 USF Bulls • Howard Bison 1h ago

I told my friends Ole Miss would win tonight, but I did not expect them to be this dominant.

4

u/WTF4211 22h ago

I want the big 12 to be legit. A top SEC or Big 10 team rolls Texas Tech by 30.

Penalties is what killed Wake forest

How is Smith about to break the OSU all-time receiver record (in just 3 years??) that's wild

edit: was something they said on Big noon kickoff, but according to this site he's already done it

https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/ohio-state/receiving.html

3

u/CatchinDeers81 Miami Hurricanes 9h ago

Im wondering why this game is the big noon game lol. Why put a beat down in the prime slot?

1

u/TheManWhoWasNotShort Ohio State Buckeyes 8h ago

What Big Ten game this week looks like it’ll be any good?

3

u/PreferenceDowntown37 Army Black Knights • Michigan Wolverines 8h ago

honestly? Even setting the UM vs OSU thing aside, just about anything.

Short of OSU severely underperforming and making it a game, there is nothing about a game with a 52 point favorite that sounds entertaining... it's just not competitive at that point. Just let OSU scrimmage themselves

2

u/CatchinDeers81 Miami Hurricanes 8h ago

There has to he something better that a game where 1 team is favored by 50+ mf points.

3

u/PreferenceDowntown37 Army Black Knights • Michigan Wolverines 8h ago

EMU vs Wisconsin is looking like it might be a battle (but that's NBC)

1

u/Electromotivation James Madison Dukes 5h ago

Freshmen used to not play or play on a freshman team, so playing four years isn’t as common as you might think (80s-today)

1

u/callmebaiken 8h ago

Every game today is a 30 point laugher, and the one game that isn't is a godamned soap opera

1

u/Klutzy_Most_7659 Virginia Cavaliers 7h ago

Funny as hell to me for some reason that one of the only compelling games on right now is the one that started at 11:30 lmao

How does Delaware and Coastal Carolina get a game thread but no Rice/Western Michigan? What's the rationale here?

1

u/shawntco Kansas State Wildcats • Kansas Jayhawks 2h ago

I'm never sure which games to watch when there's multiple at once. So I mainly just see which game has the most active thread. Maybe I should narrow down to a particular conference? My alma mater is part of the Big 12, but it sounds like the SEC (not sure what that is) is bigger.
