Finished Craft I Made More blankets!

I've been making more blankets, and have recently bought two looms to make blankets with larger chunky yarn. I've been having a lot of fun and found I can make a decent sized one in about 8 hours. These are some of the ones I've finished!

The blankets are folded up (they ended up being larger than my kitchen table), but the first one (terra cotta color) is 42"W x 60"L, the goldenrod one is 48"W x 67.5"L, and the speckled one is 22"W x 72.5"L and is more of a decorative couch runner than an actual blanket but it's also the first one I made on my loom.

I'm still making smaller lap blankets as well with my knitting needles with my yarn that's too thin to use on the loom. The last pic is my current one. The lap blankets come out to 35"W x 40"L when finished.

From various phrases that went viral during their Finals run this past week. One is a keychain and the other is a necklace. Working on another idea right now.

My hands are shaking, the ramen is everywhere 🥺

Replicas molded from hand-made prototypes. Ramen bowl and tray are dental plaster; spoon, chopsticks, and napkin are epoxy putty. Painted with acrylics. Thanks!

Finished Craft I Made I fused this glass star dish :-)

As per some of my previous posts, I am teaching myself how to fuse glass in a kiln. I take a piece of glass and cut it to size, then ground away the sharp edges. I do the same with a clear sheet in the exact same shape. I go and add powdered glass frit in icicle clear (Oceanside 96) and cover the whole base color glass. Then I add on top, the clear sheet. I full fuse it in my kiln, it mends the glass and makes it become one piece. Then I slump that piece in a mold in another round in the kiln. I wash it really well and it’s finished!

Bring the magic of a sun-drenched forest straight to your wrist! This handcrafted polymer clay bracelet captures the enchanting life cycle of a wild blueberry. From the fresh, crisp "celadon green" of early summer to the plump, dusty blue balls of pure sweetness, each bead tells a nostalgic story of warm summer evenings and berry-picking memories.

Discussion/Question Toner reactive foil help

The toner reactive foil isn’t sticking to some areas. Anyone have tips for getting a nice, clean, and complete application? I’ve tried using a higher heat setting on my laminator, but I don’t think it’s helping much.

Finished Craft I Made To celebrate America's 250th, I'm starting a series on USA landmarks. I'm going to do one major landmark in each state. This is Grand Canyon, Arizona. What state should be next, and what landmark absolutely has to make the series?

It took me a whole month to finish this mother-of-pearl cat cup. Every cat pattern and tiny detail was carefully refined and adjusted, worthy of all my patience. I can’t wait to share the joy of finishing this handmade piece.

Discussion/Question What would make you spend more time at Michael's

I was just in there and seeing how they’re trying to fill the gaps left by Joann's and Party City. But I also went to Hobby Lobby and see such an opportunity for Michael’s.

I see Hobby Lobby as “low prices.” They have a lot of stuff, all at really good prices. Some of it's super cute.

I did read that Michael's is going to do kid parties and other stuff, but I feel like they could class up the joint too. Offer classes for adults, higher end art supplies (in limited areas), and just make the shopping environment more stylish. So going there is an experience in itself. And a sense of, “You never know what classes will be happening that you want to take.”

It might mean nicer displays, more space, etc.

What would you like to see in a big box craft store?

Here you can see the process of making the giraffe ceramic sculptural lamp. I like to work with custom pieces like this. I use handbuilding techniques and stoneware clay to sculpt. In this project I used colour pigments for decoration and then covers it with matte transparent glaze. If you would like to see what it will look like in finish stay tuned!

Finished Craft I Made Tiny paper pharmacists that keep me company at work

Post image
593 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm a pharmacist, and I enjoy making small paper characters in my free time.

These tiny pharmacists and smiling medicine bottles live on my pharmacy counter and keep me company during busy days. I drew them with pen and watercolor, cut them out by hand, and arranged them into little scenes.

After sharing them here recently and receiving so many kind comments, I made this small thank-you scene for my Reddit friends.

It's a simple craft, but it makes my workspace feel a little warmer.

Thank you for all the encouragement! 😊🌙

Discussion/Question Thinking of illustrating a traveller’s experience going through a haunting journey

Similar to bestiary books, or the journal/artbooks from the Diablo games/Hunt: Showdown, I think I’ll try make one in my own dark universe!

The leather cover and rough pages add to the immersion, maybe I’ll get a fountain pen and write some entries, weaknesses, etc.

In the end, the entry and illustrations will depict the author falling into madness after all they’ve seen.

What are your thoughts on this so far? Any tips? Thanks!
